Well, after a couple of weeks off from bloggin, i'm back.. even wit a new blog layout.. you like? as most of u know, i am on holidays now. so a big sigh of relieve.. *PHEW*.. haha. This will be quite a long entry, so bear wit me k, if not, juz check back n a couple of days to see if i have any new shorter ones :P
And my holidays got of to a gr8 start i have to say, i was suppose to go to penang wit nara, yong, phang, liang n jo. In the end.. we did go. All in all a fun n gr8 trip IMHO, had lots to eat, and by lots, i mean double portions for lunch and dinner! But i guess, i didnt put on weight at all, cos we did walk a long way to our makan destinations. And quoting from jo, "I've never walked that far for food!" . hmmm.. but then , since i always walk to classes, wasnt really much of a deal for me. However, it was sunny during all d 4 days we were in penang.. which makes me miss the weather in shanghai even more :(. To be honest, we only actually spent 2 days there, call it amaturish plannin, but i think it was worth d while. Not to go on blabberin on n on.. here's basicly wat i loved n didn't quite like about our trip.
For my likes, it has to be d food, in particular the famous penang char kuay teow. And boy did it lived up to its reputation. Simply superb.. for 3 bucks, a gr8 price to pay for good food. And after eatin that (about 3 times when i was there) , i think i'll never eat malaccan char kuay teow again!! haha.. unless i really have nothing to eat la. But thn i'd rather cook maggi :P . hmm, the prawn mee was also nice, alot of 'liau' for a very low price ; the cendol near penang road was not too bad, but this IMHO is sumthin we malaccans are better at :P. Oh, and yong kept raving about this thing called Frankies Pizza. None of us had a clue to wat it was.. and to our surprise neither did d penang friends of phang n yong, wonder why... And after searchin all over (within walkin radius of our hotel), we finally found a stall that sells it. You should see the yongs eyes, it practically lit up like a kid on christmas day .hahaha.. and after havin a couple of slices, i have to say, it is pretty delicious. Not as good as Pizza Hut yet, but i can say it is second on d list. 3rd on my personal one after my moms home made pizza :P & pizza hut. All in all great food for great price. Its good to see that one can have a decent meal for only 2.50. Almost impossible in malacca n certianly impossible in kl. On another note other thn food, well, nuthin much i guess.
ohh.. jo got me hooked to Morning Musume -.- . (hears d sniggers from readers, esp dee) Don't know why la, maybe its thier 'kawaiiness' or cos its juz fun to watch :P. And speakin of girls, the 'prospects' in Penang lived up to thier reputations (that being penang girls are hot n chun :D~~) lets juz say i had a reasonable time gettin my eyes washed. hahaha.. Oh, and on another high note, everyone in penang seems to be well conversed in english. From the small kids rite up to d old uncles in their 60's. Amazing.. and to think that old farts here dun understand jack about malay let alone english.. it was sumthin i am pleasently surprised about. And speakin of malays, dont recall seeing ANY of them at all.. execpt for my hotel, which was buzzin wit thm :( . hmmm... might decide to move here next time . hehe.. never know.. :P
With good always comes d bad rite, well, for 1 , again quoting from jo, "kena conned". i'm referrin to our hotel rooms. See, it was suppose to be a 4 star place, wit a promise of 2 king size beds for each room. Obviously it was hard to believe, but since yongs dad was a member of d berjaya group thing, i was thinkin maybe 2 queen size beds. But nOooo, it was 2 SINGLE beds per room. WTF, and wats worse.. no astro!! .. for a 4 star place. geesh... even china had more variety. But then, since we are stayin for free, yes free, shouldn't complain that much rite. Other bad notes ; the so called CC in midlands park was a total rip off. With a price of 1.50 per hour, it was too hard to believe at 1st, and in d end, it was. Total rip off, the coms looked like they haved been stolen from some poor kids house, reformatted, n put there to be used. Lets see, PIII 866Mhz, 256 RAM, GeForce 2 . All that for something u put to let ppl use and charge thm for it? what the bloody fuck. i had to change coms 3 times cos they keep hanging on me, even then, my fourth aslo hanged. Pissed, i decieded to give thm my 1.50, n just headed back to d hotel. And oh, u gonna luv tis, the Warcraft version was 1.o7!! hahaha... stupid fucks. hmmm.. i guess theres nuthin to complain about penang food, although i didnt had d best beef noodles. It was suppose to be some vietnamese shop. And from wat i 've heard, vietnam beef noodles are to die for. However, it was me who felt like dyin... forkin up 5 bucks for a small bowl (it was really small), i have to say, it sucked ass. Tasteless.. the meat only like 3 pieces of thinly sliced beef, couple of fish balls. Ballz.. i could do better. Heard it was a new shop, well, if they dont buck up, they'd be closing shop faster thn one could say "Beef noodles my ass!".
Another bad thing was d bus journey, god damn those bastards.. when the bus route says "malacca - penang" & "penang -malacca", your suppose to go from A to B u jack ass. But noooo, they had to detour , on our way up, they went to A'farmosa resort to pick up some ppl, thn to pudu, droppin of some ppl and pickin sum up. On the way back pula, they still went to pudu, drop off ppl, then the bus turned into seremban.. o.O ... before finallly comin back home. And oh, the food on one of d pitstops on d way up , Tanjung Malim i think, was a total rip off. They put d prices so high, even a regular 1.40 can drink became 1.90, 1 plate of mee wit 1 regular sausage and 3 small wontons cost me 4 bucks! Not say nice. They think we ang mors loaded wit cash issit? or better, singaporeans issit?? Well, after all that being said, all in all it was a fun fun time in penang. haha.. wat better way to spend ur holidays + valentines day ( considerin none of us have dates) wit ur peeps eh. haha. And there are rumors the next trip will be to... Japan? na ni?? >.<
After that penang trip, good to hear that things have cooled down.. or did they?? My cousin got married d day after i came back. So it was busy busy saturday for me. First cousin on my dads side to tie d knot. Was d unofficial camera man on durin d weddin dinner :P . What elses, oh , camped at phangs house on tuesday nite n jo's house on wed's. Why? Football of cos, champions league is back!! and boy was i happy after watchin last nites match between barcelona n chelsea. haha.. but i think that will be d last of our 'campin' , jo's goin back to kl soon, so only left me, liang, nara n phang.. hmmm.. maybe will go out tis weekend juz for d heck of it :P .
Oh, and after 2 long years.. finally i dont have d 'P' on my drivin licence anymore!! wooohooo.. finally can drive without being afraid of havin my licence gantung cos of stupid offences. And thank God, touch wood as well, no stupid incidents or accidents have happend for d last 2 yrs!! haha.. see su ling, told u i was a safe driver! .. fast yes, safe aslo yes :P .
ok, guess thats pretty much wat has happend durin d past few weeks. My blog is still under construction, needs sum tweakin n fine tuning... so it is not ready 100% yet. And i think by d end of d month whn d fone bill arrives, im gonna get an earful from my dad :P . Note that i still use dial up. hehe.
