Last weekend was a total blast. Not only did i went to The Curve to check out the UEFA Champions League trophy tour, i also managed to buy my guitar!! :D Oh, to add further sugar to sweetness, went to this underground local gig in Sri Hartamas and it was awesome man!! Totally rocking!
Actually, i wasn't that keen on seeing the cup (its just a trophy.. replica to be exact) but since the guitar i spotted was in Ikano, killed 2 birds with 1 stone i guess should be the phrase :D. Loads of people were there, most of em dressed in their favorite football club jersey. I have to say, seems to be more liverpool supporters at that area as compared to others. Almost every where i turn, someone will be clad in their strip. wtf...
the number of ppl lining up to get a glimpse of d cup
Other then just displaying the trophy, there were other Champions League memorabilia on display. For those who have been totally ignorant or living under a coconut shell all these years, the Champions League is THE most prestigious club cup tournament in the world! The cream of Europe's top clubs battle it out to be crowned champions of europe. Its also the most lucrative cup competition. Last year's winners Barcelona pocketed an estimated 500 millions euros!! holy shit man... thats a lot of money..
A Barcelona jersey signed by the players
Joey G and Jojo S were there to host the event
had to put tis up : cute/hot Heineken beer girl :D ftw!!
oh and the thing we all came to see, Ol' Big Ears
Well, before all that started, i went to Ikano to see if the guitar i had spotted a week ago was still there. And to my delight it still was! The owner said it was the last one, so he decided to give me a discount and threw in a couple of things like tuner, strap, gig bag, picks n stand. All for 590 bucks! :D.
my new baby
Oh, and the guitar brand is Ibanez. Supposedly one of the top guitar brands world over. Guess this must be one of their lower range guitars. But hey, what the heck, it sounds great to me, and thats all that matters >:D.
And right after all of that, my roommate and me headed to KL Jam Asia at Sri Hartamas for the gig. We went there actually cos his cousin's band is one of the bands performing that night. 30 bucks cover charge with free flow beer for the first hour (yes folks, free flow!). Not bad eh? The music was pretty decent as well. 1 major plus note, they all wrote their own songs.. in English!! Aaron's (my roommate) cousin's band was the major crowd puller. Hard to see why cos the guitarist was rocking with all his heavy riffs, the drummer was well, simply awesome and the bass was a lass who used to play for Dragon Red. Too bad my camera battery died b4 i was there. If not can take a lot of pictures with hot chicks and hot band members (girls la) :D.
There's another gig at the same place this coming weekend. This time got more 'famous' bands like Deja Voodoo Spells, One Buck Short and Curtis Blues Review playing. Aaron's cousin is also playing again. Don't think i can make it this weekend though as i think i should be heading back to malacca :(.
Oh well, guess thats about it for now, gotta get back to doing my assignment but the damn net is so damn slow ><~ .
