After nearly a 2 month hiatus, I guess its time to start blogging again don't ya think? The past few weeks have been sort of a 'stop-go' notion for me. There were times when i was really occupied with things and times when i just stayed at home and wasted my time away. And because of all that I was unable to commit or find much of a motivation to blog la so to speak. Well thanks to ya'll for pushing me to blog. Basically dropping HEAVY hints to me la.. :P
So most of u might have already known my desire to stop this course and pursue something else, like flying for instance. Well, sad to say, I have kinda failed in achieving that as in I will be still in the same course come the start of next semester even if I have to re-do it due to my kinda unsatisfactory results la. Sure there was alot of hu-ha between me and my parents about me changing courses and to cut things short, I suppose I gotta have a grit between my teeth and carry on for now la. Its not like I don't know what its like to be held behind eh. However if I do receive any scholarship call from any of the airline companies, I'd be goin for it for sure!
And then after that lil' fiasco, I went back to KL cos I was suppose to work during PC Fair for Asus laptops. Though the pay was kinda minimal (i know people dont usually discuss their wage in public but what the heck) at RM180 for 3 days excluding commission, I still took the job cos hey, its not like I've got anything better to do during the next 3 days of the event rite. Plus it was my first time actually working with pay! So basically how much we were paid wasn't an issue cos I was in it for the experience but if they don't pay me, somebody's gonna get a hurt real bad!
It was kinda cool and fun working at the fair to be honest. Got to see lots of different kinda customers, some polite n nice, some rude, some think their damn smart, and some who just come over n over again looking at the same model but in the end never buy... Which makes us tu lan -.-''.... And it was quite fun too having a pass card that allows you to walk all over the fair with out having to follow those security erected walls. Those who went before would know what I'm talking about. But I never expected how exhausting it could get. We worked for basically a 10-10 shift with breaks for lunch n dinner only. At the end of the first day, my legs was all sore d, went home terus peng and to top it off, i didn't manage to sell that many laptops. At least second day wasn't so bad, legs not sore d, only jz the feet and sales picked up and of cos on the last day, didn't feel tired at all mainly cos got MU vs Arsenal later on la. Haha..
Well that was that la, and after the past 3 days of working, I myself really won't mind buying an Asus laptop! I got a strong feeling that they'll call me back for the next PC fair cos as far as the part timer rookies was concerned, I was the top seller of notebooks! haha.. I say rookie cos there was 1 dude who sold laptops before so no surprise as he managed to out sell me la. But competition in our group is worthless cos the overall commission is shared. Only thing was on the last day, the first 10 sales person who managed to sell a laptop will get 30 bucks extra. I was person number 2! So a great experience overall la so to say, and at least now in my resume I'll be able to fill in the 'previous jobs' slot. hehehe..
Then after that was just chilling around at home looking for a new place to stay for next semester. My roommates (currently got 1 pendatang asing) and I plan to shift out of the room cos 3 to a room is just too much and we want our own privacy la. So the search is on and sad to say so far it has not yielded anything yet. I still have till end of this month to find a place though. So i suppose time is still on my side for now la.
About a week after my PC Fair gig, my dad enrolled me into this Personal Development Leadership course la (Yong Hwee if ur reading this, i'm sure u know which course i mean). Don't be fooled by the word leadership, cos they ain't teaching u how to be a leader to lead ur men but how to lead urself. Long story short bout this course is that it teaches u how to be truly successful in life and how to make urself a better person. Its held sumwhere along Kuchai Lama, KL and thing is, participants had to stay in the shoplot like building for 4 days! If that wasn't so bad, no handphones or contact with the outside world (unless of course emergency) is allowed during the duration of the time! Can't tell you much about it cos its suppose to be confidential, but one really has to have grit , determination, and the open mindedness to accept anything that is being thought to you.
And the thing is, the session that I attended was for adults so out of the 27 participants, I assumed i was gonna be the youngest but there was 1 more girl younger than me and another one just a year older. The rest of them are like late 20s til early 50s! And the good thing for me was, most of them come from the engineering sector so can say I made alot of contacts la. And surprisingly, around 20 of the 27 of us works in Malacca!! Talk to them n ask them where they work, malacca, malacca, malacca. To be honest, a bulk was from Infineon la, eh Yong, one of them was ur senior engineer that u had to report to when u had to do ur practical there and all of them know ur dad weh! And almost all of them are like executives, managers, branch heads, division heads and directors!
The accommodation itself was not that bad at least not to me cos i've lived in the hostel before. But there were some of them not used to this as I assume they are more accustomed to swanky hotels with big beds and hot baths. Instead what we had was double decker beds for 4 in a room with no place for cupboard but only enough for a towel rack n a place to chuck ur bag. At least got air-con but no hot water in the hostel like cubicle showers. And to be honest, the weather outside must be freakin hot through out the day cos even when I showered at 1 in the morning, the water wasn't freezing cold.
The food however was a very pleasant surprise la, the people there really fed us well. 6 meals a day folks!! only in malaysia I suppose this would happen. And the 3 main meals are usually very nice and minimum 2 meat dishes ( fish n chicken confirm got) and 1 vege and 1 more either egg or toufu. And the best thing was its buffet! Eat la how much u want. The in between meals pula the normal Malaysian style kuihs. But I have to say, this beats any hostel/canteen food I've had in my life!
At the end of the 4 day course, we had sort of a closing ceremony where all of us had to give a speech about what we learned to an audience of bosses (who sent their managers/directors/workers here) and family members (the 3 younger ones including myself had our parents there!!). It got really emotional for some I tell you, cry pun ada. As for me, tried to play a straight face and succeeded! Mr Ice Cool i am. :D ... And we wont get a cert or anything until we come back for a follow up session which will be held at the end of the coming week.
And after that, I stayed at my aunts house for the nite before my uncle send me all the way back to Setapak the next day. Not before having lunch at Finnegan's at Sri Hartamas though! Had spaghetti carbonara and a long island ice tea!! For lunch!!.. For those who think its a normal ice tea, go google wat is long island and u'll see what i mean.
And when i got back, the first phone call i received was to play futsal! Barely 2 hours after lunch!! ahah... So the rest of the days was spent at my condo watching shows, playing FM, hanging with my dear or playing futsal la.
Was home this weekend, thought can senyap senyap come home n go back without being noticed. But i should've known better rite. So just came back from dinner with Don, Leo n Su Ling actually, thanks Leo my pirate ... ahhaha.. for lending me burn my shows :D. Will be meeting them one more time tomorrow for breakfast before Su Ling gonna send me to the bus station :D. Guess I better get some shut eyes soon if not tomorrow can't wake up
And thanks dear for withstanding me for the past few months, i know i've been a lil pre occupied with myself eh. haha..
