What Were They Thinking...

Usually I get lots junk n more junk in my e-mail but recently I got this e-mail from a friend of mine that I think I've just GOT to share...

Gotta wonder what were the owners on when they were thinking bout names :

Halfway inn where?? Free show ka?

I think its a guarantee with their product..

"Hello, you've reached Fuk Mi's, can I take your order"

Hmmm...

Something for the guys..

Something for the girls..

"Would you like it small, regular or large size sir?"

And my very own contribution.. for those who don't un, ask ur Hokkien friends

Now for those who think regular joe's don't have a wicked sense of humour, think again..

KL-ites will have this familiar feeling

Would be a nice BBQ equipment now eh?

Who says church people are dull?? Haha..

And in the recent event of the whole-lotta-bull Earth Hour shit..

Now I really wanna NOT turn of d lights:P

I think the whole Earth Hour thing is just one big publicity stunt cos what can you gain by turning off the lights for one hour? Sure you save electricity. And then what? I haven't done any research whether not using electricity will make logging any slower or slow down the melting of d polar ice caps.. Can anyone enlighten me?

I have a few better suggestions on how we can prolong the life (yes I use prolong not saved cos in the end, we are all fucked anyways) of this earth. First off for everyone to turn of the vehicle engines for an hour ? Or no smoking for an hour? Wouldn't that two suggestions alone give far greater benefit to the environment?

Randomness..

- Feels so good to be wired up again. After nearly a month of no net access, my new place finally has connection! Took them bloody long enough, now only I realize Saturday doesn't count as a working day.

- Facebook has gotten more n more anal... Just when I got nice and comfy with one layout, they go and change it again... added to that is the mass spam of quizzes, note tags and pictures of cartoons that remind your friends about you... -.-'

- The new Formula 1 season is starting this weekend! Whee~~ But sadly I doubt that I'll be able to catch it due to location/access problems. However, it does look like I will be making the journey to Sepang next weekend again for this years Malaysian GP :D . This time gotta buy tickets myself.. no more freebies d. Will be very interesting to see how the new rules effect the drivers.. and wonder if it'll rain.. hmmm.. I think there would be no more Pak Lah handing out the trophies this time round rite?

- My 'news' website has taken a personal vendetta against the Malaysian govt. A particular minster actually.. Kinda sucks though, can't get the daily 'juicy' news that I regularly do. But I do respect his 'campaign' to fight for the freedom of speech and fight against the 'man'. Shit... sound like one of those hippies you see on tv. -.-'

- Theres this whole earth hour thing going on tomorrow where we are suppose to turn off all our lights for an hour. Does that mean fans, laptops n PCs too? Wouldn't give a crap.. the place we live in is fucked either way what.. Oh well...

- My chatbox seems rather empty.. 3 post for nearly 2 months.. Aih~~ oh well...

The Dream Lives On!! No, Not The National One...

Looking forward to the weekend for 2 reasons. Firstly n more importantly (I dare contradict myself though) is that I'll be shifting units for the second time in less thn a quarter of a year! Even Juande Ramos didn't get sacked in such a short time! Damn house owner wants to increase the rent from RM1050 to RM1300! Even the agent that came to check on the house was stunned and apparently at wits end how to rent out a place where there's no : fridge, washing machine or internet and only 1 fan in the living room.

So instead my housemate/ex-roommate manage to find a place couple of floors down for a dirt cheap price. Only thing is there is no net at the moment so will be AFI (away from internet) for a couple of weeks. And another good thing is that its located on the 4th floor which means I wont need to wait for that damn lift to arrive. So guess thats a good way to start losing the pounds eh?

The second and more important reason IMHO is the EPIC match between Man Utd and Liverpool. If the weeks results was anything to go by, this Saturdays encounter is bound to be a belter of a match! Felt kinda satisfying when I replied 'dream on ..' on my neighbour's Facebook status saying ' Hope Inter will get a score draw'. He is a Liverpool fan btw, poor lad. Now usually I would love to diss the opposing team but ever since the past few years, I've gotten to know more n more Liverpool fans. So I'll try to be diplomatic by saying 'May the best team win la'. Chelsea n Aresnal fans however, will never get that :P.

More of this for the weekend!

Now I'm more of a realist than an idealist, so the quintuplet (thats 5) trophy sweep still seems a bit far fetched but with the recent performances and results going our way, it might just happen! This could be the year we actually win everything!! Watch this space!!

With that leads to more of this I hope..

Now on a more serious note, it is getting abit ridiculous about whats happening in our government don't ya think? Like I said before, I don't like to waste my time stating the obvious but when a old and wheel chaired MB gets surrounded by a group of 'formal' thugs outside of d parliament, it just strengthens my opinion on this matter more and more. I used 'formal' because this people are actually party men from the youth division dressed nicely in shirts and slacks. Aren't the youth suppose to be the leaders of tomorrow? And the youth body surely got 'parent' body rite? Not like they did anything to 'punish' their 'kids', but instead support them. Typical of their people rite? I'm not saying ALL of them are like that, no there are nice and noble ones, but as the Malay saying goes ' kerana nila setitik, rosak sebelanga susu'. (fuh, my BM still can pakai)

And thats not the worse thing. The worse thing is that NOT 1 of the security personal even bothered to help. Reason? it happen OUTSIDE the Dewan Rakyat so they have no jurisdiction. And the police conveniently intervened only when some other guys tried to help the old dude. See now thats why I'm kinda afraid of the police. Go watch Chris Rock or Dave Chappelle stand ups to get what I mean. Now though this matter won't effect me in a direct sense, but it does show which road we are heading down right? With April 3rd fast approaching, one wonders if that is the day we go back into the dark ages?

Our next PM??

Most recently though, and this does effect me directly, is our 'beloved' government has the balls and cheek to shut down a US based website because it showed pictures of local politicians in nude n compromising positions. Yes, I'm sure MOST if not ALL of you reading this know exactly which site I'm talking about! And its not like one of those rumor sites, this site shows photos that 99% of the time you can confirm who is who, and I doubt those are fake.. If they are, the government wouldn't give a shit rite? Luckily the author of the site is not local or else the ISA would have his ass by now and there goes my source of news and entertainment in one. And thank God, yes God, that he still semangat to revive or relocate (whatever u wanna call it) his site so we can still view it :D.

If there is one thing they haven't learned (I'm sure there are millions) is that the power of the Internet is limitless... like hydra so to say.. So as long as our right to free speech isn't stunted on the net, I guess I'll be happy for now..

Oh, didn't realize its Friday 13th. Thats 2 months in a row!!! O.O

A Shopping I Will Go...

In a spontaneous decision to go shopping today, me and Ant decided to go KLCC to walk around as he wanted to buy some shirts and I was hoping to buy a pair of shoes. Went to the Adidas Originals store and the shoe just cought my eyes. It was like love at first sight sial.. something you know from the first time u see it, you just gotta get it!

Been wanting to buy a pair of shoes for so long already, went Malacca find takda, went Penang find takda, even went MidValley pun takda.. In the end, it was the shopping mall nearest to me that I found this :

Sweet ain't it? Original price was 299 but pleasantly surprising was I came on the last day of their sales. So I manage to get a 20% discount for that!! hahaha... awesome!! Its super comfy and super nice... even comes with another set of black laces so if I feel kinda funky, I can go all Micheal Jackson!

Well, at that point I haven't had anything to eat yet so was kinda hungry la.. Suggested Burger King but instead Ant said ' why not Chilli's? ' . And today was my first time eating there! The burger I had was nice la I suppose, but for the price I was paying, wouldn't expect any less.

And what a nicer way to wash it all down than with a nice cocktail. Had something called a Strawberry Daiquiri. Was kinda nice but kinda weak on the alcohol side though >.<

Anyways, feeling kinda tired now so gonna leave it short for here..

Air Asia n Man Utd??

Been wanting to post this since I came across the article in The Star few days ago. Couldn't believe what I saw, my eyes lit up instantly at the crack of noon when I read the headline that said something like : Man Utd wants AirAsia as shirt sponsors! Now normally I would get this off the net and able to verify this quickly by checking it with other websites, but cos I was stuck in Malacca at that time..

Anyways, can u imagine that?? Having AirAsia printed on the front of THE greatest football team in the world's jersey? Was already kinda wetting my pants thinking bout it! hahaha... maybe if it does go through, I might finally get an ORIGINAL jersey eh?

But of course there are many things to ponder about before Mr. Fernandes decides to take up this offer. Mainly like how much money it'll cost them cos after all, current sponsors AIG is paying United bout 14.1 million pounds (or issit USD?) per year. Secondly, how much will AirAsia get back through the selling of jerseys, merchandise, etc to the public? But I'm sure Mr. Fernandes is a very wise person and he will make the right choice. Wonder if our 'beloved' government will try to cock block this move?

Of course, I would personally be delighted if the deal does go through, who knows, maybe AA will have a promo like fly AirAsia n get a ManU jersey at half price? And besides, its Man Utd that approach AA, not the other way round! That must surely tell you how highly MU regards AA huh? For once I feel kinda proud when I say Malaysia Boleh!

Imagine watching this week in week out on our telly.. (pic was taken from www.tonyfernandesblog.com)

Oh, on the topic of AirAsia, Malaysian F1 GP will be coming soon... anyone interested to go? Pay la of course, no free tickets this time..

Ok la, time to go watch Liverpool against Real Madrid pula.. lol..

Nothing Like A Nice Cuppa....

Well, it's almost the end of my holidays back in Malacca, I'll be heading back to KL tomorrow to sort out some house stuff. Need to find a new place to stay before the start of next month!! Currently I'm blogging from Starbucks @ Mahkota Parade whilst my mom is shopping... Yes, I'm THAT damn bored and THAT net deprived that I followed my mom to shopping!!

Anyways, I've just returned from the Penang trip with the guys bout a week ago. I'll surely be blogging bout that once I upload the pics to my laptop and get the rest from Drew, in a nutshell, it was the BOMB!! Those who came along had a blast, n those who didn't surely wished they had *cough*phang*cough*soon*.. Spent not more than 200++ bucks on food, had IMHO the best n most expensive char kuay teow at 9 bucks!, had fun time cuci mata with penang girls (seriously the Malacca pool of girls have dried up.. >.<) , witnessed how important it is to speak at least 1 dialect of Chinese! (more on this next time.. Drew can explain why i suppose :D), teached 2 ppl plus 1 Yong how to play mah jong from scratch! Hahaha... And in the end, surely gained weight but not sure how much!

And not to say the eating stopped in Penang, no.... it carried back to Malacca! shit!! Come back ni go eat cendol (which IMHO pwns Penang's cendol eyes closed!), curry laksa (also, pwn!) , satay celup n chicken rice balls!! Heck, imagine 3 ppl eat 45 rice balls n half a chicken with a total of ONLY RM11.20 sen!! How I'm gonna miss those prices when I get back to KL >.<

Champions League resumes this week!! Hurray!! More sleepless nights!! Obviously the plum tie of the round would be Man Utd vs Internazionale of Milan... n looking by the form guide, its gonna be a belter of a match! Though we did finally concede a goal in the league (I think Tomaz is shit though) we still went on to win the match with a fine Ronaldo free kick which I think is long overdue! And with Liverpool only manage to draw against the blue half of Manchester, a 7 point lead now looks pretty healthy.. Speaking of Liverpool, I feel kinda nervous for my friends who support them cos while they could only muster a draw, Real Madrid whopped the team that drew with Barcelona last week 6-1!! N Barca pula seems to be coming undone at the moment, losing to the bottom club at home.. wtf... Hopefully they'll beat Lyon tomorrow!

Oh, Slumdog Millionaire won BIG at the Oscars this morning.. 8 out of 10 nominations!!! Wicked rite?? Not really a big fan bout this awards ceremonies cos almost 80% of the movies that are nominated never get to touch our shores... n even if they do, half of it will be censored like fuck!! :P ... Read that the people in India aren't too happy bout the movie cos of the title 'Slumdog' which they say is demeaning ... But I agree with Datuk Shah Rukh Kahn when he said something like ' If they are offended by the title Slumdog, why can't they be happy with the word Millionaire at the end??' .. Stupid people.. for fun ni looking for trouble..

Which brings me to my next topic abit a short one : Malaysian politics... Won't get too deep into this.. its just gets sadder n sadder (is there such a word?) to flip open the papers in the morning n from page 1 to 20 will be nothing but politics... Perak la, by-elections la, LCCT@Labu cancel la, MACC pointing fingers la, Eli Wong nude pics la, seriously.. if the woman wants to sleep naked in her OWN bed let her be la.. MB ka PM ka.. fuck... her rights wat... Can't help to think this is all a BIG conspiracy by the ruling party to gain back ground from the last elections... Will all of this end when Pak Lah steps down?? I wouldn't hold my breath.. but you never know, if you go against the government then, you might end up in pieces with traces of explosives all over ;P

Oh, might be organizing a trip to Langkawi next month... not sure yet.. depends on Yong n Phang.. anyone else interested to join?? n after listening to 'Love Story' more than 20 times in the past week alone (5 times on the way back from Penang!!) that Taylor Swift song is stuck in my head ><.. but she is kinda hot!! :)

Hmmmm... still got 1 hour + before dad comes n pick us up.. and it does suck that Malacca doesn't have a music shop like Beatspot, Bently, or Yamaha ... really need a new set of cables... ah... will continue to sip away my Iced Caramel Macciato and spam Facebook la :D

Glutton, One of My Favourite Sins..

Couple of months back, my family and I took a trip up to Hanoi for holiday together with my relatives. Was still in the middle of the semester then, but I didn't regret 1 moment I was away. I'm gonna cut the boring part of visiting temples, historical monuments, caves, etc and get to the best part : FOOD! Nothing distinguishes a country more then the food that comes out of it. And my trip to Hanoi has been pretty much the consuming of 2 things : Pho (which means noodles, rather a thinner version of our kuay teow) and coffee!

Right, the first order of the day when we touched down in Hanoi was breakfast. And the place my uncle who is working in Hanoi took us served Pho Ga (which means chicken noodles I think) and coffee! At first I thought, ain't Vietnam famous for their beef noodles instead of chicken? Well, I was about to find out they both go hand in hand.

See if you'd follow a normal tour group led by one of those tour guides from the company, they'd probably usher you to one of those posh places or even worse, the hotel.. and this little shop could've been overlooked completely. If you visit those coffee shops in Jonker area often, you'd pretty much feel at home. But the food is in a class of its own.

At first glance, I wasn't too excited bout what was on the table, as you can see, simple plain broth, noodles, chicken n spring onions. Add abit of lime and freshly cut chilli by the side, it seemed simple enough no? But I tell you, once I took a spoon full of it, I swear I won't eat another 'Vietnamese beef/chicken noodle' in Malaysia anymore!

And we got these mini char kuays which are so crispy n fresh. At first I thought it was suppose to dip in the coffee like typical Malaysian style. But my aunt and uncle said to dip in the soup and eat with the noodles. Sure enough, it felt perfect. And owh, Vietnamese chili is not like the normal chili we get at home. The size like normal chili but the taste, sumthing like chili padi la. Damn syok!

And to wash it all down, we had real Vietnamese coffee. I had the iced coffee which looked simple enough. But as I was to find out with all the coffees served in Vietnam, the locals here like theirs thick kao kao kao. Imagine my aunt who's about erm.. 70? (eh, Lynn, how old is dee ee ah? :x) , kaki kopi as in every family gathering sure will make those Aik Cheong or Starbucks coffee, says that its too thick for her and ask me to finish it. Luckily I'm not one of those who can't sleep after a cuppa. Or else I probably won't be able to sleep for the whole time I was in Vietnam!!

If that was the taste of things to come during the trip, I could hardly wait!! One note worth mentioning, you know if you see those travel shows on Discovery T&L esp. the Anthony Bourdain ones where he says if possible, do not eat in the hotel? Well, I bet he would retract differently once he tasted the food we had at ours.

The hotel we stayed wasn't that big or grand, it was a little boutique hotel tucked away in a small ally way which only bikes and pedestrians could access. This is 1 case of 'don't judge a book by its cover'. Service was great, the staff smiled and greeted you everytime you walked it. Heck even got complementry drinks on arrival. The breakfast menu was also superb! Ain't no run of the mill buffet, but an ala carte menu where we order what we want to eat n they cook it on the spot for us. Their beef n chicken noodles also 'mou tak teng' as the Canto ppl would say. And I had an omlette stuffed with cheese, mushrooms, bacon n ham + beef noodles almost every morning!

Anyways, only had the breakfast thing the following days. As for lunch, we went to this restaurant which provided local n a bit of western buffet. Now usually I wouldn't tempt snails or as the French would call it : escargot. But hey, when else would I have the chance. So ate I did, and yummy they taste! There were also staff bringing those huge kebab sticks with meat wrapped round it tableside and slicing of juicy pieces of beef, pork or lamb for us. Too bad no pics, was busy stuffing my pie hole with food!

And of cos, gotta try every Pho Bo (beef noodle) in sight rite? The one here was also yummy! And there were the usual Vietnamese spring rolls . To be honest, I had so many different types of spring rolls here, all claiming to be THE Vietnamese spring roll, I'm really left clueless. Will the real Vietnamese Spring Roll please stand up?? At the end of it, we left with our bellys stuffed and our faces smiling :)

Later in the day, we went to this coffee house where the speciality according to my uncle, is ice cream coffee. Wondered what was so special, just put a scoop of ice cream into the coffee la rite? Well, kinda.. the secret was they used coconut ice cream! I think its fresh cos can see the ice cream still got the coconut shavings in them. And as usual la, the coffee standard is as kao as ever :)

For dinner, again we went of the beaten track and walked ourselves from the hotel to this little French type eatery. I was told that this placed served one of the best slices of ham, salami, etc and pate (pronounced 'pah-teh' .shit i too lazy to find the letters with the slashes on top :P). Upon hearing that, could clearly see the eyes of my dad n sis light up!

This was what we were here for, a platter of nothing but meat in its finest form apart from those carrots la. And the yellow thing beside ain't no melon or butter, it was fat! And what better way to enjoy this scrumptious feast then with freshly baked french bread! No it aint the baguettes, its the shorter, fatter, softer n fluffier version!

Nah, macam ni la makan! Use the fat as butter, put a few pieces of meat, some tomatoes n cucumbers for taste and walla, Meat sandwich! And between the 10 of us, I think we ordered like 6 plates of this! And I think between me, my dad n my sis, we had like 4 of em!! There was one time they went out of bread so one of the waiters had to go out n buy some from those aunties sellin em by the road side!

We even had room for pigeon, roasted chicken and salad. Heck even their salad got pieces of ham inside!! Surely by far the best dinner I had in Hanoi! I think my dad said if this was his last meal, he'd be pretty happy!

The next night again we went to this small shop a couple of blocks away from the previous nights' dinner. Here they serve one thing and one thing only but unfortunately, I couldn't remember what its called in Vietnamese hahhaha.. Basically it was fish slices marinated in kunyit and other spices fried in a small wok with kangkung over a charcoal burner ! And we're suppose to cook it table side ourselves.

We ate this together with home made glass noodles and there was this special sauce. If you know budu, then you pretty much can imagine the taste. Its so pungent it'll make you wanna throw up at first. I think its fish paste n fish sauce.. somethings fishy here.. Like my aunt said, its an acquired taste. Unfortunately I didn't manage to acquire the taste :(. Non the less, the dish itself was delicious!!

Following day, we went to Halong Bay, don't wanna bore you with sights of the sea n rock formations. The food on board the boat we sat though was pretty much average la, but 1 thing that cought my eye was the first dish, 1 plate of prawns ! And this was for a table of 5! Haha and Vietnam has 2 brands of local beer, couldn't really choose which I like more, I just knew I liked drinking em!! But they're light la.. Something like China beer.

That night for dinner, we had more seafood, some local Vietnamese steam boat thing. Nothing much special here la.. Normal spicy tom yam like soup with prawns, clams, mussels, crabs n fish.

Heck I manage to eat 1 whole crab myself! ahha.. Huge buggers summore weh.. And that was pretty much my trip to Hanoi in a big eating nutshell la. To simply put it Hanoi has thought me that food doesn't have to be presented beautifully or located at a fancy artsy big big places for eat to be heart warming and delicious.

And owh, 1 final thing before 1 forgot, this might look like an ordinary coffee latte , but in fact, its coffee with whipped cream, kahlua and 1 shot of tequila!! no shit!! And I have to say, thats not a bad way to cap of the night, Over looking a small lake.. wathcing peoke pass by. And one more intersting thing, there are NO FAT people in Hanoi!!! With the abundance of food, I am truely amazed!!

I think some of you might have seen this already via Facebook, but for those who haven't enjoy the sight of our 'beautiful' Malaysian culture. Mind you, What you see above happened like all 5-6 times that night itself!

I'll be heading to Penang on Tuesday, so expect more of the same in my next post ! :D

What a New Year Indeed

This year's Chinese New Year has been particularly special for me for the main reason that my birthday fell on the first day of CNY. So with the normal wishes of Gong Xi Fatt Choi, I get n extra Happy Birthday from friends n peeps around me. Meaning to say that I've never gotten so many birthday wishes before! And oh, not to mention the power of Facebook... Boy is it powerfull in more ways then 1.

Besides that, during this CNY, I manage to meet up with more friends and relatives at1 time compared to the previous years. Some even relatives I never knew I had!! Was very happy to be able to meet up with my cousins this year as last year, we didn't get to spend much time during CNY. Plus now that we all have grown up (erm.. size ni, thinkin still the same la I think :P), its even harder for us to meet.

Cousins.. Shit I only manage to get a head shot ...

And you know that you've aged when you see your younger cousins at the age of 7-13 playing PSP (seems that all the young ones have 1!!), Gameboy Advance, Nintendo, Dota, Counter Strike etc where as us at the same age were still playing hide n seek, kejar-kejar, Power Rangers..

Our customary gambling session.. alcohol was a welcomed addition this year!

Also, this year, I did manage to NOT stay alcohol free and even manage to squeeze in a tradtional gambling session or 2 :D. The food as usual was a plenty with my mom baking lots n lots of cookies n cakes. How la wanna lose weight when you've got all this good food lying around?
So basically this CNY I've been pretty busy.. If not layan relatives, its friends... And I was fine with that, leavin in the morning n only returing at late nite.. But apparently that led to my negligence towards my girlfriend at that time and she said (in my own words) that was the last straw and she couldn't take it anymore.

Happy Times!! 1 for the album

So without getting into too much details, it seems that I've been the creator of our downfall and she had to pull the plug for it was taking too much out of her hence as of the start of this month, I have become single again. Availability is subjective. haha.. I can't say I saw this coming, but maybe I should've. I feel kinda taken aback cos I thought we were on the mend but seems that I've been taking things for granted.

So maybe I deserve this in a way, and maybe I don't deserve her anymore, therefore, if this is her choice, I'd just have to swallow it. No, I politely decline any sympathy and yes, I'm doing fine. How so? Well, I figure what we had while we had was great, and I'll always cherish the memories we had, all we've gone through was a lesson in life thats worth keeping n learning from. For that I say thank you. No regrets there... Trying to be all philosophical ain't I. Plus, its not as if being sad n moody n emo will change anything right?

In the end, I just hope that we do not become strangers, I hate despising ppl and being despised and I sincerely pray that after this, life would be on the up n up for her. Finding a better guy than me n all. I'm Sorry..

Ah, its getting late.. transfer window oso closed liao.. I don't like this cliche but I'll use it anyway : 'New year, new beginning' .. haha.. lame ..

It's a Miracle!!

Well, it has to be.. after God knows how long (well, just scroll back to the last post and everyone will) have I last blogged. Don't think I want to get into why so long no blog again nor what have I been up to in the time between as I suspect everyone else has more important things to do... like shop for CNY clothes or decorate/clean house or help your mom bake cookies!

I suppose this CNY would be extra special to me as the first day also coincides with my birthday *winks*, therefore all the more reason to resume blogging eh? Usually for my parents will give me cash for my birthday n ang pau on CNY but whether this year will be a bonus for them ( 2 occasions 1 angpau) or me (2 occasions 2 angpaus) remains to be seen.

Will be going home tomorrow though, so that'll make me AFK for about a week till I come back to KL. So if anything important do reach me on my cell n not leavin messages/tags on facebook ya.. Damn.. no Battle of the Bands n Premier Football for a week! And I'll be meeting up with the Malacca gang for dinner tomorrow... wonder if this year we'll go visiting again? If we do, don't care mates, ya'll gotta come my place!! Last year u all skip, wtf man... so NOT cool!!

And I predict this year will be a very sober CNY again.. think I only had like 1 or 2 cans of beer last year! If it does happen, it'll be good in a way that after drinking my liver to death on Christmas n New Years Eve, it'll be a good break! Then again, nothing is merry n fun without some alcohol to pass around rite?? Well, at least I can look forward to gambling this year with the Family and friends.. Mah Jong anyone??

Christmas Eve @ Jason's

New Years Eve @ Andy's

And after CNY, I'll be heading back to KL to sit for my last paper. Then its holidays again ! Which reminds me, me n yong are planning a trip to Penang in Febuary. Date is unconfirmed yet.. most likely will be discussed in depth n length tomorrow. But I can say this la, it'll be a road trip (hooray!!) of food, food n more food! Anyone interested please do let one of us know by the end of next week so we can do better planning ;P.

On another note, can't help but be mesmerized by the style of FC Barcelona lately... trashing every team in its wake with style n guile and its more team work of 1 team than a team of 11 individuals playing togather. And having a player like Leo Messi helps the cause a lil la.. to put it simply, its a football equvilant of an orgasm! haha

The masters of Catalonia

Than again, my beloved Red Devils aren't doin too bad either. We're doing what needs to be done : winning. 3-0 Chelsea then a 1-0 Wigan and another 1-0 Derby? Well,4 trophies this year? If we stay injury free why not, if any team can do it, its definatly us!! Vidic has been God like in defence.. still dont like Van der Sar for nuts.. Ronaldo is finding his shooting boots again... Rooney is on his way back from recovery.. So all in all... FOOTBALL ftw!! Screw Russell Peters if he doesn't like 'soccer'! :P

Twin Terrors at Old Trafford

Guess thats all for now... Happy Chinese New Year of the Ox folks!! gonna look for something to munch on!! lol

If they were selling Messi 10, I would've bought it too!

*Update*

After 24 hours, I finally took out the bandage n this is what my finger looked liked. See, told ya it was nothing to be worried about!

Monday, September 15, 2008

Oh How Shit Happens...

Well, I've been often plagued with the question of why I never update my blog for such a long time. Mainly I give the reason that nothing interesting is going on and I will update if there is. Well, had sorta freak accident earlier today. Nothing major la don't worry, well, this is rather kinda sohai, I got a mechanical pencil lead inserted right through my left ring finger! Might not sound much but it is kinda annoying and a bigger deal then I initially thought.

Here's how it happened : I had a paper today so as usual, we aren't suppose to bring our pencil case into the exam hall rite? So I stuffed my stationary into my pockets and when I reached into my pocket to take em out, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my left hand. Took a look and see and what ya know, the pencil lead broke ngam ngam at the start of the nail there, and not to say lodge on the surface of the skin, oh no, it went like 45 degrees into the flesh! And whats more fucked up was, I couldn't do anything bout it cos the exams was about to begin. Wasn't bugging me much throughout the paper thankfully cos the venue was frekin cold and my hands were freezing :D.

So I thought to myself ok la, later go back n bedah myself ( I know, stupid idea). Then when I came back, I tried to cut the skin abit and use a pair of tweezers to pull it out but to no avail, it looked like it went deeper instead! Then my housemate pula say he'd give it a go and before I could say anything, he was already at it. KNNCCB, it was painful but not that unbearable though, but as you've might guess, we only made it worse. So last resort, terpaksa lah go clinic.

'Tools' that we used initially, no the pick wasn't one of em

But even the doctor had trouble taking it out, he was like digging into my finger with he's pair of forceps. It took him several tries mainly cos the lead had already broken (wonder if I'll get lead poisoning o.o) and I couldn't actually feel it cos I was on local anesthesia but I could still feel like someone scraping inside my finger! Haha.. too bad I didn't think of bringing my camera along for that though and I forgot to take a picture b4 I went to d doctor. But not to worry, I did take some after-treatment pics below. Don't fret they ain't gory.

My finger looks like a cabbage roll! Lol.. typing is a bitch now..

So anyways, the doctor said he manage to get all of the lead out but the wound was still kinda dirty (whatever that meant in detail) cos of the residue of lead and the clinic didn't have the right tools to clean it up. He said he was quite sure I'd make a full recovery but if it turns septic, I gotta go to the hospital and get a deeper incision to clean it out for good *gulp*. Hopefully I don't have to la. So after dressing up my finger and 38 bucks worth of meds later, I'm back home.

First thing I did was pop 2 pain killers cos the LA was wearing of fast, could not only feel pain but also my pulse throbbing in my finger! Wish they would give my vicodin instead! ahhaa... Then I can pretend to be House abit. lol. Gotta keep the bandage on for the next 24 hours so in that time, I can't play my guitar and I find typing without 1 finger pretty annoying ( I know I know, should think bout people without hands!)

Too bad it wasn't the middle finger though, then I'd have an excuse to flip someone off!

Well, thats all for now, think I'll be going off to sleep now, lack of sleep in the last 24 hours.. Normal la, exam period ;)

Work Work.. Part Time Work....

I'm back from my long hiatus, not sure when I'll be back again after this though. haha.. Anyways, just to inform ya'll that I'll be working again at the upcoming PC Fair next month!! Not sure which brand of laptops I'll be selling but I heard its between Dell n Toshiba. I so pray that we get to sell Dell because 1) Sales is good. Dell was the top seller at the last PC Fair and 2) Toshiba will be freakin hard to sell cos of the price vs specs. Hope to see some of u there ? haha..

Well, before I went for the interview yesterday, I 'accidently' got another part time job for the coming two weekends. See, I was suppose to accompany my friends for this job interview at the same building but for a different company. And before I knew it, the guy who was passing out forms gave one to me. At first I wanted to give it back to him but my friend persuaded me to 'just fill it in incase of future reference and if i needed any part time jobs'. So oklo, fill lo, and before I knew it, I was attending the interview (which I so owned!) and within the next hour or so , I got the job!

Well, its just a promoter for weekends only for a company called G2 (stands for Grey 2, why? bloody hell don't know) which is some sort of a branding/promoting/marketing company. See, they help promote brands such as Walls, Guinness 9 Ball Tour, Tiger FC, Dunhill, etc. around the country. So this time round, as a first timer, me n my friends got to promote Sensodyne toothpaste! WTF!! oh well, job is a job rite. And guess where I'll be working ?? : Watson's @ The Curve!! Compared to some of my friends who have to go to OUG or even Jusco in Balakong, this is a good thing rite? haha.. Will be there from 12-9 pm for the next 2 weekends. So if any of ya'll feel like a weekend stroll in The Curve, drop by to say hi aite!

But all of this means I'll be occupied for the next 3 weekends, which means I wont be able to go home till next month :(. Was really looking forward to goin home this weekend but oh well, wouldn't say shit happens but things just come up huh. Nvm la, at least I'll be making some side income in the mean time rite :D

Other than that, it's been pretty mundane over here. My dear came for a visit/college registration stuff last week, was happy n excited to see her after so long. Went for movies after registering herself at Help.. And I have to say, the admin office is pretty impressive.. like the Bat Cave!! Literally speakin! (those who've been there will know wat i'm talkin about). Thx for comin dear.

Well, guess thats that for now, footie season ain't for another month so I won't annoy some of u with that till August 16th or 17th la. And I'm dried out of series to watch... most of them have not started yet and for those who have, its only been a few episodes. Though I am waiting for friends to finish downloading Reaper, Eureka and That 70's Show :D.

Updates....

Recently I sent my laptop to the 'hospital' in Times Square because its 'respiratory system' was seriously failing (the CPU fan making hell of alot of noise and its starting to overheat). And after nearly a week and a couple of days down the road, I finally got it back! Cost to change the fan : RM 51 ; Labour cost : RM 100. Hopefully now it won't give me anymore problems. But for those who know me better, my laptop also has another problem, the USB slots are giving me shit. I inquired how much it would cost to fix and as expected with laptops, when it comes to USB, usually it'll be connected to the motherboard so the tech guy said have to change the motherboard all together. Cost of that? RM 600!! -.-'.. So me being me, opted for the cheaper alternative, right after I collected my laptop, I went to Low Yatt to search for USB slots. And to my delight, manage to buy one 4 port (PCMCIA slot mind u) USB slot for RM 60. Along with it I decided to buy a pair of new earphones for RM 39. So all in all I spent RM 250 only.. Money well spent I hope.

But I'm quite sure it is la, currently using the USB slot for my mouse and pen drive, and listening to David Cook with my earphones. Speaking of which, I just downloaded 4 of his songs and he like so totally rocks man. He's gonna give Daughtry a fight !! Kind to think about it, Doesn't David look like Chris with hair? haha..

And about another Cris, Cristiano that is, speculation is that he will join Madrid soon. Most likely next year or even worst this summer!! One wonders why would he wanna leave, well I could give probably a couple of solid reasons, but whatever his is, I really hope he doesn't follow the foot steps of Ruud, Becks and Heinze. Shit... kinda think of it, United has been like a feeder club to Real. WTF!!

Anyways, on other footie news, Euro 2008 kicks off tonight!! 1 month of late nights again!! woohoo!! And thanks to the good people at Media Prima, I will be able to watch most of the matches on my laptop via tv card I have!! :D ... I think Germany and France have the strongest chance to win it, but I don't really know. I think I'll support France for this tournament. We'll wait n see how this pens out in the next couple of weeks yeah!

Hmmm.. my time table for this semester kinda sucks bad eventhough I only have 4 classes this week. Monday I only have 1 class which is from 9-10 and Friday my last class ends at 5. Wednesday I'm on leave! So I guess that makes coming back Malacca this semester more complicated than I like.

Guess thats about it for now.. oh, I so wanna watch Kungfu Panda!!!

Kings of Europe at last!!

Champions of England, now Kings of Europe!

YES!! After 120 minutes of normal time and extra time, it was all down to penalty shoot-outs for the Champions League final between Man Utd and Chelsea.. Boy was it nerve wrecking.. Seriously, I go for exam also never under this much of pressure.. and when Ronaldo of all people missed the penalty, I thought "habis la.. this is gonna be one of those nights..". I was prepared to switch off the TV when John Terry, Chelsea captain, walked up to take the final penalty which would give his side the cup, when suddenly, he slipped and fell as he took the kick which resulted the ball to go way wide into the stands!

I think I woke up the neighbours when I shouted in delight... we were still in it, and after the next 2 United penalties, the pressure was on Chelsea and to my (and the other millions of Red Devils fans) delight, Van der Sar did what he did at the very beginning of the season... he saved the penalty!! Thus Manchester United have been crowned kings of Europe again!! Oh the sheer delight and relief I felt there after. And just for kickers, Ryan Giggs scored the last penalty before Chelsea missed. So.. another great night for the old timer :P.

Van der Sar with the all important save

Oh and for your info, that boy Ronaldo was on the score sheet again with a superb towering header. Folks, this is why I love football so much. So those who don't like or don't understand me and football post.. neah, I'm too elated to say anything bad. That wraps up another season of club football. Euro 2008 is coming up next!! I can't wait!! hahaha

On another note, American Idol Season 7 just had its finale yesterday and the results very early today morning, as a result, I only manage to sleep for 2 hours just to catch the result show. And the winner is...

Rocker David Cook

Honestly, after yesterday's performance, I didn't think he could win AI7, judging by what he has put out during the entire season, I thought he thoroughly deserved it. And what can I say, I was 2 for 2 on the night/day. United beat Chelsea, Cook beat Archuleta. And now, its already 2 in the afternoon and I only slept for 2 plus one hour nap. Gonna take another nap now.

One HOT & HUMID Week

Another week has passed and I'm still in Malacca. And during this week I have to say has been quite unproductive for me. Besides sitting in front of the tv watching shows from morning till nite, mostly cheering our country in the recent Thomas & Uber Cup happening on channel 816. Sadly we fell short of the semis for the men and quarters for the women. But I have to say, valiant effort on both sides. Well, besides that, I haven't really gotten around to do anything really.

But one of the few things that I think was a highlite of the week was waking up at the crack of dawn (well ok ok, 8am) for dim sum with su ling n leo. I know Yong's recent post was about some frozen self steamed dim sum, dude, we had the REAL thing!. Since during the weekdays I don't have a car to drive, I'm lucky to be driven around by Leo all the way to Ong Kim Wee for dim sum! Would've taken more pictures for those who are abroad and can't enjoy this but really tak larat la.. so early in the morning.. no mood to take pictures. haha..

Spread wasn't much, but it wasn't bad.

Honestly I think the dim sum in my very own backyard (Bukit Beruang la...) is much better then the one here (no offence k leo) but since got ppl willing to drive, can't really complain right? Haha. But they slack one important dim sum of em all - no har kao !!! OMFG... like how can have no har kao wan!??! -.-'' ... For those who have no bloody clue, dats the siew mai type with prawns inside. Dang.. Well, all in all, I give a pass to this shop la. Wouldn't mind comin back but certainly I want someone who will eat dim sum *ahem ahem, suling* a lot to join :D.

On Thursday night pula was the first time during the week that I manage to play futsal at back here! So that in particular was a high point of the day :). That very same day the whole world found out that American Idol 7 finale battle will be David vs. David. Well, David Cook and David Archuleta(sorry bout spelling ya). And honestly, I so want DC to win cos I feel like he's a true talent, reminds me bout Daughtry alot! And if you haven't heard his rendition of Mariah Carey's Always Be My Baby and Micheal Jackson's Bille Jean, I urge you to go to YouTube and view them. Totally rocking man!!

Speaking of rocking, bought a t-shirt at d pasar lewat malam near my place in KL before I came home, and I have to say, its one of my better buys from there! It was either that or maybe a MU jersey with Ronaldo at the back. Oh well, can wait for next seasons' design la.

Rocking t-shirt!

And now that the months of May-June-July are coming up, that means summer and summer movies. I see got like damn lot of movies comin out in the cinemas and some hopefully will reach our shores uncut! Really looking forward to watch Kung Fu Panda, Batman, The Incredible Hulk amongst others... Too many I can't remember their names. AArrrgHHh.. All I hope is that got teman to watch with la. My dear is back in seremban so.. hmm.. unless dear, u come kl n watch :P

Right, one week down, one more to go.. May 21st is coming real soon!! The weather here is freakin hot and whats worse, freakin humid!! But I guess it will be unfair for me to complain looking at the conditions in Myanmar and China rite? This Monday will be Wesak Day and I guess it won't

Champions Again!~~~

WARNING : This will be more of a FOOTBALL post. If you DON'T like FOOTBALL, then scroll down to the bottom part la.. Lamer! :P

10th title for us, 10th medal for Giggsy

Finally the 2007/2008 English Premier League has come to an end. And boy what a roller coaster season it was! After slogging it out, easily beating the big clubs, losing to the ones we should've steam rolled over and having a possibility of the title being decided on goal difference for the very first time, in about 24 hours ago, Manchester United lifted the trophy for the 10th time in 16 years fair n square!

Wasn't much of a nail biting game last nite but I decided to watch it at home because I wanted to savour the trophy presentation which I would've missed had I watch it at a mamak stall. And for once this season, Ryan Giggs didn't suffer my wrath of being a 'has been' and me often calling it time for him to retire with grace while he still can. Probably if we lift the trophy at Moscow in about a weeks time then we'll see how it goes eh? But hey, he has been in every title winning side since the Premier League was formed so I'm not saying I don't like him or he doesn't have what it takes, but I'll leave that for another day to banter la.

That boy Ronaldo

Well, for the most part of it, we have Cristiano Ronaldo to thank for the 41 goals in all competitions and 31 in the league. Hopefully he will play a major role in winning the Champions League trophy on May the 21st. And more hopeful that he stays with United for a very long future! And turning the channel over to the chelsea match after the final whistle was blown was superb... IF ur NOT a Chelsea fan la. Everyones faces was like black n a mile long. The entire stadium was quiet. haha.. Ok la, I guess that is all for the football for now.. Now, the Reds will march on to Moscow!!

Anyways, haven't been doin much lately since I came back to malacca granted its only been 2 days la. Someone recommended the book 'The Alchemist' to me just recently. Anyone has a copy of it and willing to share? hehe..

Its Been Awhile

After nearly a 2 month hiatus, I guess its time to start blogging again don't ya think? The past few weeks have been sort of a 'stop-go' notion for me. There were times when i was really occupied with things and times when i just stayed at home and wasted my time away. And because of all that I was unable to commit or find much of a motivation to blog la so to speak. Well thanks to ya'll for pushing me to blog. Basically dropping HEAVY hints to me la.. :P

So most of u might have already known my desire to stop this course and pursue something else, like flying for instance. Well, sad to say, I have kinda failed in achieving that as in I will be still in the same course come the start of next semester even if I have to re-do it due to my kinda unsatisfactory results la. Sure there was alot of hu-ha between me and my parents about me changing courses and to cut things short, I suppose I gotta have a grit between my teeth and carry on for now la. Its not like I don't know what its like to be held behind eh. However if I do receive any scholarship call from any of the airline companies, I'd be goin for it for sure!

And then after that lil' fiasco, I went back to KL cos I was suppose to work during PC Fair for Asus laptops. Though the pay was kinda minimal (i know people dont usually discuss their wage in public but what the heck) at RM180 for 3 days excluding commission, I still took the job cos hey, its not like I've got anything better to do during the next 3 days of the event rite. Plus it was my first time actually working with pay! So basically how much we were paid wasn't an issue cos I was in it for the experience but if they don't pay me, somebody's gonna get a hurt real bad!

It was kinda cool and fun working at the fair to be honest. Got to see lots of different kinda customers, some polite n nice, some rude, some think their damn smart, and some who just come over n over again looking at the same model but in the end never buy... Which makes us tu lan -.-''.... And it was quite fun too having a pass card that allows you to walk all over the fair with out having to follow those security erected walls. Those who went before would know what I'm talking about. But I never expected how exhausting it could get. We worked for basically a 10-10 shift with breaks for lunch n dinner only. At the end of the first day, my legs was all sore d, went home terus peng and to top it off, i didn't manage to sell that many laptops. At least second day wasn't so bad, legs not sore d, only jz the feet and sales picked up and of cos on the last day, didn't feel tired at all mainly cos got MU vs Arsenal later on la. Haha..

Well that was that la, and after the past 3 days of working, I myself really won't mind buying an Asus laptop! I got a strong feeling that they'll call me back for the next PC fair cos as far as the part timer rookies was concerned, I was the top seller of notebooks! haha.. I say rookie cos there was 1 dude who sold laptops before so no surprise as he managed to out sell me la. But competition in our group is worthless cos the overall commission is shared. Only thing was on the last day, the first 10 sales person who managed to sell a laptop will get 30 bucks extra. I was person number 2! So a great experience overall la so to say, and at least now in my resume I'll be able to fill in the 'previous jobs' slot. hehehe..

Then after that was just chilling around at home looking for a new place to stay for next semester. My roommates (currently got 1 pendatang asing) and I plan to shift out of the room cos 3 to a room is just too much and we want our own privacy la. So the search is on and sad to say so far it has not yielded anything yet. I still have till end of this month to find a place though. So i suppose time is still on my side for now la.

About a week after my PC Fair gig, my dad enrolled me into this Personal Development Leadership course la (Yong Hwee if ur reading this, i'm sure u know which course i mean). Don't be fooled by the word leadership, cos they ain't teaching u how to be a leader to lead ur men but how to lead urself. Long story short bout this course is that it teaches u how to be truly successful in life and how to make urself a better person. Its held sumwhere along Kuchai Lama, KL and thing is, participants had to stay in the shoplot like building for 4 days! If that wasn't so bad, no handphones or contact with the outside world (unless of course emergency) is allowed during the duration of the time! Can't tell you much about it cos its suppose to be confidential, but one really has to have grit , determination, and the open mindedness to accept anything that is being thought to you.

And the thing is, the session that I attended was for adults so out of the 27 participants, I assumed i was gonna be the youngest but there was 1 more girl younger than me and another one just a year older. The rest of them are like late 20s til early 50s! And the good thing for me was, most of them come from the engineering sector so can say I made alot of contacts la. And surprisingly, around 20 of the 27 of us works in Malacca!! Talk to them n ask them where they work, malacca, malacca, malacca. To be honest, a bulk was from Infineon la, eh Yong, one of them was ur senior engineer that u had to report to when u had to do ur practical there and all of them know ur dad weh! And almost all of them are like executives, managers, branch heads, division heads and directors!

The accommodation itself was not that bad at least not to me cos i've lived in the hostel before. But there were some of them not used to this as I assume they are more accustomed to swanky hotels with big beds and hot baths. Instead what we had was double decker beds for 4 in a room with no place for cupboard but only enough for a towel rack n a place to chuck ur bag. At least got air-con but no hot water in the hostel like cubicle showers. And to be honest, the weather outside must be freakin hot through out the day cos even when I showered at 1 in the morning, the water wasn't freezing cold.

The food however was a very pleasant surprise la, the people there really fed us well. 6 meals a day folks!! only in malaysia I suppose this would happen. And the 3 main meals are usually very nice and minimum 2 meat dishes ( fish n chicken confirm got) and 1 vege and 1 more either egg or toufu. And the best thing was its buffet! Eat la how much u want. The in between meals pula the normal Malaysian style kuihs. But I have to say, this beats any hostel/canteen food I've had in my life!

At the end of the 4 day course, we had sort of a closing ceremony where all of us had to give a speech about what we learned to an audience of bosses (who sent their managers/directors/workers here) and family members (the 3 younger ones including myself had our parents there!!). It got really emotional for some I tell you, cry pun ada. As for me, tried to play a straight face and succeeded! Mr Ice Cool i am. :D ... And we wont get a cert or anything until we come back for a follow up session which will be held at the end of the coming week.

And after that, I stayed at my aunts house for the nite before my uncle send me all the way back to Setapak the next day. Not before having lunch at Finnegan's at Sri Hartamas though! Had spaghetti carbonara and a long island ice tea!! For lunch!!.. For those who think its a normal ice tea, go google wat is long island and u'll see what i mean.

And when i got back, the first phone call i received was to play futsal! Barely 2 hours after lunch!! ahah... So the rest of the days was spent at my condo watching shows, playing FM, hanging with my dear or playing futsal la.

Was home this weekend, thought can senyap senyap come home n go back without being noticed. But i should've known better rite. So just came back from dinner with Don, Leo n Su Ling actually, thanks Leo my pirate ... ahhaha.. for lending me burn my shows :D. Will be meeting them one more time tomorrow for breakfast before Su Ling gonna send me to the bus station :D. Guess I better get some shut eyes soon if not tomorrow can't wake up

And thanks dear for withstanding me for the past few months, i know i've been a lil pre occupied with myself eh. haha..
