Well, 365 days have past already since 06 kicked in. There has been a lot (i emphasize on A LOT) of things that has happened to me over the past year. Some sweet, some not so sweet and some down right bitter X( . All in all i think there were more valleys then mountains if u know wat i mean. But i guess thats life rite, it always isn't a bed of roses. So i took the liberty to glance back at all my post of the past year. And this is my year in a nutshell :
The good :
1. The trip with the guys (nara, jo, phang, liang, yong) to Penang on Valentine's Day. It was the first time we went on a trip togather even if we've known each other for at least 7 years d (yes dudes, its been THAT long!!). But its never too late right? :) And boy did we had fun.. Eat, walk , eat, walk , eat , sleep (not to mention all the crap/bull talking along the way la). That pretty much sums up the trip but was worth every sen we spent. Best part was, eat so much, but i din gain weight! haha.. Don't know if we can still manage to do this kinda thing again.
2. Hitz.fm Birthday Bash. My first concert of any sort actually. This time i went with Yong Hwee, Leo, Prash n Su Ling. Was a blast of cos.. Manage to see malaysian ENGLISH bands perform for FREE!! And i must admit, some of them are really good!! Not to mention we were standing/jumpin for nearly 8 hours of non stop partyin!! Great fun. Got abit of sunburn in d end as well.. But wat the heck rite. Not everyday dat a concert happens in Malacca that is worth goin to. ;)
3. World Cup 2006. 1 month of non stop football. Makan bola, tidur bola, cakap pun bola. Memorable event for more then 1 reason. The infamous Zizou head-butt practically stole the headlight for all the wrong reasons. But i won't say so much bout the world cup cos i know most of u don't enjoy football no? Actually tis is a good n bad thing.. good cos football for a month, won few bucks bad cos the 2 teams i supported, brazil n england got knocked out in the quarterfinals.
4. The Genting trip with Y.Hwee, Prash, May, Shen-Ynn, Ho Chun, Don n Jac. Another first holiday trip with this bunch of fellas. Love the Solero Space Shot the most... Can't say the same for Jac though :P. Theme park rides, food, oh and how can i forget.. 8 ppl in 1 room!! Hahaha.. Think i manage to get only few hours sleep no thanks to some story telling.. :P
5. Rock The World 7. The largest concert in malaysia. 50 bands performing on 3 stages in 1 venue. Super la.. This time only went with my roommate. But fun nonetheless :D . Best moment : J.Lo tappin my shoulder n talkin to me!
6. Road trip with Aaron, Tau2 n Ben to ... Malacca! yeah, malacca dudes, that was the day after rock the world ! but rather then stayin at home, wat the heck rite.. might as well. Had fun, ate good food with great company. Only thing if i could ask for more was the weather.. was rainin that day.. But actually, dat was the beginning of the flood !!
7. Trip to Kuala Selangor. Another makan trip.. Small town where almost everyone knows everyone. Best seafood i've had so far! And the price is super reasonable as well weh.. haha.. thanks to Lemon for treatin us la anyway :D. Best moment : Tom yam prawns in coconut. 1 sip of the soup and it felt like heaven i tell u.. if tat was my last meal, I'd be happy.
8. Meeting new friends both online and offline. Online was earlier in the year when i was IRC-ing almost 24 hours a day. Met numerous ppl who i still keep contact with till now, some i've even met in person after meeting online, some really helpful givin advice, sharin stories, n basically talkin crap to past the time la. haha.. Offline leh, the people who i met when i shifted into my new place. I have to say, the really are a friendly bunch of ppl. Even if i've never spoken to them b4, but they took me into their circle of friends as if i've known them for ages!! Really appreciate it u guys! :D
I guess thats probably wat stood out during the past year that made it sweet for me. Sure there were many other things but can't remember that clearly la. So sorry if i left out anything ya.
The bad things leh.. don't wanna say so much bout it. It will just bring back bad memories nia. So summarizing : 1. broken guitar, 2. broken heart (2 times weh), 3. friendship gone down the drain, 4. the couple that stayed in my unit (no doubt provided me with drama to witness , but gives out a bad aura la), 5. repeating my second semester and 6. the passing of my late grandma.
Again, there are other things that happened that may have made a bitch that i didn't mention but i didn't mention cos i guess its too small a matter for me to consider.
Guess thats bout it. I've also learned a number of things this year that i never knew before. More like lessons in life la. Firstly was, telling a girl u have feelings for her indirectly means u are askin her to be ur girlfriend (i seriously don't know k). Secondly, people aren't always wat they seem to be. All i wanna say bout this is i mean it in both ways, as in simply putting it, good but actually bad or bad but actually good. U get the drift. Thirdly, i've gotta keep faith in myself. Gotta be confident in what i do, more vocal in somethings and just keep my gap shut on others. Learn to take criticism by others as constructive motivation to better myself. Fourthly, appreciate others more, never know when they will repay ur kindness. Fifth , karma. What goes around comes around. no need explain anymore bout tht.
Hmm.. maybe the good did overshadow the bad after all. But it felt otherwise non the less. But i guess matters of the heart always gets a x2 on the scale rite? Nonetheless, i will defiantly cherish the good memories, learn from the past and treasure everything else thats in between!. And i guess '07 will be more of the same things happening. I really don't wanna speculate on what might happen at all. 365 days is a bloody long time. And as u all know, i don't like to make resolutions cos 1. i never keep em, 2. forget wat they are by February.
But just in case i have to make em, 1: get myself into shape physically 2: pass every exam. Don't wanna set lofty ambitions i may forget. I will set short term goals though but not at the beginning of the year. hmm.. maybe i should get a girlfriend.. anyone interested (or know anyone whos interested)? :P.
And oh, don't worry folks, i will continue to write wat i feel like writing with no holes barred!! :D
