In the past 48 hours, I only had 9 hours of sleep... 9 freakin' hours... for wat? Staying up watching football of course. Was it worth it? Well, yes and no. Mostly no.
I was lucky enough to bear witness to probably the best performance from possibly the best player of our generation. The Flea, also known as Lionel Messi absolutely tapao-ed Arsenal 4-1 at the Nou Camp on Wednesday morning with one heck of a performance from out of this world. Arsene Wenger called him a 'Playstation player'... Even his manager has run out of superlatives for him. 3 hattricks already this season and the fourth plus one goal the other night most likely guaranteed him winning the World Player of the Year again next year. So 1 half of my possible Dream Final pt 2 was in place.
The next night, part 2 commenced... things couldn't get any better, Rooney was back even when old man Fergie said 'no way in hell'. And in 7 minutes, we were up 2-0 against Bayern. Oh but more was yet to come ... 5 minutes before half time and we were up 3-0 thanks to a brace from Nani of all people! But as it would seem, things took a turn for the worse... Long story short, we ended up losing on away goals... haiz... Though no doubt Robben's goal was a beauty... Did we deserve to lose? Possibly... well at least now Fergie knows he has to splash the cash for more top quality players. If Messi is to Barca what Rooney is to United, then we need a better support group than the likes of Carrick, Berbatov and Rafael cos quite frankly, Messi wouldn't be as good without the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Dani Alves or even Pedro alongside him!
So who to blame? Carrick for being such a douche cos he missed 1 sitter and couldn't defend properly against a 34+ short striker? Or Rafael for getting sent off in the 49th min in what was IMHO a rather naive and inexperienced challenge. Or the fucking Belgian waffle Van Buyten for kicking Rooney all over the park till he got injured again? I think .. ALL OF IT!!! yes i'm being bitter so sue me!
All I can hope for now is Barcelona meet Bayern in the final and absolutely whack the living shit out of them!! Haizz.....
