It Tastes Just Like Chicken...

... is what most parents would tell their children when introducing them to some exotic white meat like frog, snake or alligator/crocodile (I knew mine did!). Though in the end, it hardly ever does taste like chicken at all! So last Saturday me and DonN (Batman was AWOL) went to eat what is supposedly the best frog porridge in this area.

Located somewhere in SS2 (my ss2 map a bit fail... all I know it's nearby the police station) this shop only serves 1 kind of porridge: frog porridge as evident from the name of the shop. Unsurprisingly, the business was originally from Singapore and they keep playing some food programme showing how delicious their porridge is -.-'... Oh and we came after the Argentina vs Nigeria match which was at 12 am... Supposedly they close at 4am!

Kermit must be hopping franticly away...

Not surprisingly (or issit?), it was empty when we stepped into the well decorated and clean shop. I usually associate porridge stalls with those traditional kopi tiam type kinda places... lol.. Left the ordering to DonN in which he ordered kung-pow style frog and porridge for 2. Didn't take long for the dishes to come. Honestly this is the first time I see the meat not in the porridge!

A nice small and surprisingly modern place...

I know most of you must be thinking 'zomgwtfbbq frog?' Even both Batman and TSoon gave me the 'ewww' look when we suggested eating this... But trust me guys, if you've not tried frog before, this is THE way to eat it! Taste wise, it is juicy and sweet, tender NOT at all like chicken. It does kinda break down rather easily in your mouth and the meat just falls right off the bone. Now I'm not sure if its because of the way the frog is cooked or memang liddat. And don't worry, there is no skin, head or webbed feet to make you think you are actually eating an amphibian.

Awesome stuff right here...

As for the porridge itself, I have to say, this is probably the best porridge I've eaten in a while... Yes it is just plain porridge, but it's cooked in such a way that it is not too watery or too dry but just nice and thick even creamy like! Add with a little sesame oil and pepper together with the kung-pow sauce, fucking amazing!!

Not your everyday porridge meal...

Though I probably won't eat (or maybe I will if got people wanna eat?) this in awhile cos I feel it is rather expensive for porridge. The bill for the 2 of us came up to 30 bucks with 2 liang cha peng. So at 15 bucks a person, probably a little on the steep side though DonN says it is reasonable...

Now this taste like chicken...

Anyways, before that we went to Chillis to watch the above said match. We decided to have something light so I called for the triple play which I think along with thier Cajun club sandwich is probably one of their better items on the menu. Although the buffalo wings were kinda small =\... Aih Malaysian chickens tak makan wan issit....

After the frog porridge we went to get TSoon and went to Centrepoint McD to watch England concede a howler of a goal to the US of A. Jay Leno said in his monologue that the loser of this match had to clean up the oil spill in the gulf! Haha, guess no one is gonna clean it now... Main reason we were there was because McD's have upgraded their tv and Astro to show all the matches in full HD! oh, even some Starbucks outlets are having a promo where if you wear your team jersey/shirt and they win, you get a free drink!!

It Starts Here...

The GREATEST show on earth will begin within the hour and I have a feeling it's gonna be a blast!! This is one of those times when lesser football fans come out to pick a country and support all the way to the final... kinda like once in a blue moon thing

As for me, I'm putting my money on Spain cos lets face it, they are playing superb football ... think Barcelona and Real Madrid in 1... I know the likes of Zhou, Willie and me will be donning our respective jerseys when they play :P

La Furia Roja...

Though the obvious casts will be there in the final few rounds.. namely Brazil, Germany, Italy and Argentina...

http://images.dailyradar.com/media/uploads/ballhype/photos_large/2008/06/15/Brazil_1.jpg
Lets get ready to parrrtyyy...

However I think teams like England, the Dutch, Portugal and of course France will falter say probably the quarters due to injuries to key players or just a lack of that mental toughness needed at the latter stages...

http://www.southern-africa.co.uk/images/specialist/world-cup/south-african-fans.jpg
Are the witchdoctors ready?...

As for surprises, probably the likes of Ivory Coast, South Africa (remember S.Korea in '02?) and even Australia might upset one or two apple cards! What ever it is, one things for sure: countless of sleepless nights for the next month!

Oh as an added bonus, there is a fantasy league going on between the usual suspects... must redeem myself after a lacklustre EPL fantasy season... Let the international taunting begin!

And few new additions to the league...

So just who will lift the trophy come July 11?? We'll just have to wait and see... Less talking for now...

Learning German Sure Is Tough...

After a one month hiatus of going around town looking for good food (mainly cos me), the 3 amigos went to Bavarian Bierhaus @ The Curve for some porkish delights. Made a shoutout for more people to join us but sadly, the call was not heeded... haiz... Anyway, for those who don't know this hidden gem at the Curve, its tucked nicely inside one of those courtyards though looking for TGI Fridays and Big Apple (or wassit J.Co) doughnuts should lead you there.

One drawback is they don't take reservations for weekends after 7pm...

Since Yong Batman has been here before, he suggested trying out the Knuckle Combo which, according to the menu was 1 pork knuckle, ham, German sausages, potatoes and some pickled cabbage called sauekraut. And having had pork knuckle experience before at Oasis, we knew this was gonna be HUGE so we decided to order just that and 1 appetizer. Decided on some ham platter which has a German name to it... I swear, Germans really have the most complex names in the world to pronounce... wanna order oso susah.. sked pronounce wrong, lose face pula...

Yummy ham platter...

Well, the thing that caught my eye in the ham platter was the Parma ham. I always see chefs like J.Oliver, G.Ramsay and tasty Nigella use it in almost everyday dishes and they always say it adds loads of extra flavour to the dish. So that was all the conviction I needed. The platter came pretty fast though it was expected ... no cooking required what... A few slices of bread and an awesome Dijon mustard ( I think) and apple sauce combo accompanied the hams. And the Parma ham did not disappoint! Full of flavour and maybe a bit salty but I'm not complaining. Though there was the salami that tasted exactly like lap cheong! which batman (please don't change ur name k ^^\m/) didn't like :(.

Our combo platter... if only KFC can copy this...

After we cleaned the plate and 2 ,yes 2, helpings of sauce, our main dish came. At first look, it seemed that it might be a little bit small for 3 guys to share. Yours truly was given the task of carving the pork since the other 2 was either too busy stuffing face with food or too noob with a knife... See if you can guess who's who :P. Although the knuckle looked slightly smaller in comparison with the one @ Oasis, I do however find it tastier!! Seriously, nothing beats crackling skin, a layer of greasy fat and some lean meat all in one yo!

Porkalicious...

The sausages however were rather ordinary, nothing you can't get from your local pork deli. Probably they save the better ones for their speciality sausage dishes... hmmm.. tu la I want more people, can sample more food -.-'. Well, in the end it was just nice actually, no over eating that night. Job well done! Oh and all in all it was about 39 bucks per person which is a reasonable price lah IMHO... though the cholesterol count isn't!!

Germans say 'Prost'...

And what better way to wash down a hearty German meal than with a pint of German beer! I still can't pronounce it even if my life depended on it! But it was rather ... erm.. wheaty in a way, can really taste the full body of the beer. In other words, not as light as a Heineken la... Speaking of which, we were suppose to go Happy Hours @ Sanctuary but one by one pussy out... so haiz.. happy hour wasted =.='... I really need more friends...

Well as for next week, looks like we'll be going to SS2 for some frog's leg porridge. Any takers?

A Sanctuary Indeed...

About a week ago, I received one of those service smses promoting happy hours for beer at Sanctuary @ The Curve. It had a 'buy 1 free 1' promo for Kilkenny ale (I think its an ale), the ale which I only tasted once many years ago and have yet to taste a smoother ale like that! Yes the kind that Pandarian Brewmaster says, ' Fresh brewed ale', 'have one on the house'. So on my first full day back in KL, me, my house mate Aaron and Andy went there to check it out.

New and reloaded Sanctuary...

We reached the place at around 4.30 (according to Yong, no one drinks during the day) and I was surprised to see how much it has changed. The Sanctuary I remembered was this club with just a few tables outside and only one small entrance door. Now it has a nice al fresco sitting with sofas and all with many more seats inside. I have to say it is a pretty good environment! They weren't kidding with their revamped, relaunched, resomething, reloaded tag line. But what I was REALLY impressed with was their new (to me at least o.O) happy hour promo.

Couldn't believe our luck...

Yes, you read the flyer right! Buy 1 free 2 till 7pm!! Normally at any other joint it would be buy 1 free 1 till 6 pm ni. So this was literally striking gold! And the beers on promo were Tiger, Kilkenny, Guinness (!) and Heineken (!!). So first we ordered 1 pint of Kilkenny, wasn't as smooth as I remembered but it was still good and at RM33 bucks for 3, can't really complain aye!? Oh for Aaron it was kinda (or is it?) his Hari Gawai away from home! LOL!! So it is safe to say, this place has overtaken The Library as my favourite watering hole from now on =D!

What's better than buy 1 free 1? free 2 of course...

Next, we ordered a pint of Guinness for RM33 a pint. I'm not really a keen drinker of the black stuff. But since I hear many people swear by this, I decided to give it a go. It wasn't bad, but I still haven't found a taste for it yet =\. After that we ordered another pint of Kilkenny and then to my favourite beer: Heineken @ 20 bucks a pint!! 20 freaking bucks for 3! That's like less thn 7 per pint which makes it helluva lot cheaper then even the supermarket! Hey we even had refillable bar food in the shape of 'kacang kuda'. Seeddaappp~.

The kacang was nais...

I thought that would be it and we would be heading home after but we decided to join some other friends for a birthday party all the way in Sunway. The only pinoy friend of mine was having his 21st birthday at his home so we decided to join in the fun. It was a great party with plenty of food and booze O.o... and I really do think all Filipinos can sing loh... damn kao weh... from dad to sons, which meant the night went on to have many a long sing a long sessions.

Liquid black gold... I'm still sceptical...

After that, Jason's idea was to drag the birthday boy to some club called Dolphin @ sunway. But with the drunken state of the birthday boy, he didn't show up. I'm sorry to say lah, but that has to be the most lala club I've been to weh... And the drinks weren't cheap either -.-'... But that didn't deter Andy from drinking some more drinks and doing entah apa lanciao to impress some GRO there ( is that the term used now? it's those girls who try to sell you drinks wan). Tried to buy his way into bringing her home with him. Seriously, these girls how to bring home wan... It's their job to look drunk and make you spend ur cash on them la...

You can never have too many drinks during happy hours...

Well, on the way back, that sohai (sorry, must use this term liao) claimed to be sober enough to drive back home and we were foolish enough to let him. How fucking wrong were we. If you guys are frequent travellers of the LDP near the Motorola bridge/Western Digital area, you'll know that there is a killer corner there with some Kedai Perabot LDP nearby. If it was a Japanese made car at the very least, taking a corner at 140 kmph would be shaky but still fine. Other bigger cars like Merc or BMWs would be no prob la. But the Andy thought (or didn't think) his home made, semi tricked out wira was good as well...

Needless to say he was wrong, and we hit the damn divider... Luck must be shining on us cos 1) no other cars were on the road 2) didn't hit any dividers after that. All of us were fine. 2 of us were sober. the car surprisingly only had 2 busted tyres and some small scrapes... No paint job loss on the sides at all.. -.-''

This is why I ALWAYS say: 'If you wanna drink till you get drunk, do it at home'. Cos if you die at home, you'll only injure/embarrass yourself! Oh to all my East Malaysian friends, Happy Gawai!!

It Has Finally Ended...

Yes, another season of domestic European football has ended over the weekend. The 3 major leagues were decided on the very last day (not sure when the last time this occurred) with Chelsea, Barcelona and Inter Milan winning their respective leagues.

It has been a long and hard season for us (Manchester United), losing out on only 1pt at the end. Looking back, it could be down to many things such as the loss of goal scoring options in Ronaldo and Tevez, to the defeat away at Burnley and Villa, to the goalless draw at Blackburn to the home defeat to Chelsea to the over reliance of Rooney and of course the fumbling count Dracula Berbatov...

Next season, we will get #19...

But in the end, we just weren't good enough although I felt the likes of Rooney, Valencia, Nani and Gibson have been outstanding this season. Heck, I even tip my hat off to old man Giggsy. Then again, when the champions scored more team goals, more individual goals, and beat all its closest rivals home and away, I can't really argue with the outcome... Next season then..

Well, at least we didn't blow 1/4 billion euros on players and yet didn't yield any silverware! That honour of biggest failure of the season goes to Real Madrid. Seriously, that amount can finance a small country weh! But thanks to Messi-ah and co., Barcelona lifted their title for a second successive time under Pep. Their revelation of the season has to be youngster Pedro Rodriguez. The 19 yr old (I think) has managed 12 league goals as a winger and that is the same amount Berbatov scored all season as well, as a striker... Been telling Yong all season to 'watch this kid' and so far he has yet to disappoint me.

Simply the best...

Though of course much of their success can be attributed to Messi and Xavi. Messi has scored 47 goals in total this season whilst Xavi as almost the same amount of assists I'm guessing! Heck, he manage to play 100+ passes in a game against Arsenal! Lets face it, no club in the world plays better football than them, not even United! Though Inter did play brilliant defensive, anti-football to lock them out of the Champions League...

Right, so as the season draws to a close with only the Champions League final to play, there is bound to be post season blues and plenty of empty weekend nights for now. At least until the World Cup kicks off on 11th of June!! Have you decided who to support? I sure have...

Oh yes! Supporting La Furia Roja in South Africa..

On another note, yes some other things have come to an end, though I do not wish to elaborate it over here as I deem it rather inappropriate...

Labour Day...

... is usually when everyone takes a break and puts a foot up at home... Some even decide to go and protest on the streets for civil rights. I however decided to do some 'work' at home making pizzas from scratch! Actually we just wanted something to eat while we drank some Bacardi... but 'some people' say kenot drink sooo much cos of friendly the next day...

All you need to start...

My day began at 830 am (don't ask how I manage to wake up so early) making the dough for the pizzas followed by a round of sweeping and mopping the haus... Apparently mom says I need to have a presentable house before I can call guests over. I told her "it was just phang, zhou n yong oni wat... make so nice for wat..." and instantly kena deth stare!

Yong was busy checking out Zhou's sis's FB page...

Right after all that was done the 3 of us minus the God fearing one went to watch Iron Man 2 @ Mahkota Parade. Couldn't get early tickets so ended up watching the 4.45 show instead. And I have to say, it was a pretty good show... as good as part 1 and fortunately didn't fall into the bad sequel pile of movies. Though it still lacks behind Kick-Ass though :P. And for once the 3 of us can agree on the hotter older woman over the younger one :D.

The only vege pizza of the night...

So by the time we got back was nearly 8 pm and I begin making the first pizza of the night: an appetizer pizza made up of fresh tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, olives and cheese. Saw this recipe on tv once and it was as simple and as basic a pizza as you can get yet it look absolutely delicious! So my version worked out kinda well I think... One thing I would really love to have is fresh buffalo mozzarella cheese... it'll would've been even more legendary!

Putting on the finishing touches...

Next up was a classic in my family with ham + bacon + olives and pineapples. Of course every pizza except the dessert one has both parmesan and mozzarella cheeses on top. I've actually made pizza before but I still can't roll a perfectly round dough... Though I did get the dough to be thin crusted enough =D.

Why bother with d fancy stuff when you have a cleaver...

Then next was the pepperoni only pizza. Something like the one you get at Pizza Hut only this is REAL PORK pepperoni! Seriously, you can't substitute pork meat with beef or chicken and get anywhere half as good as it originally tastes. Case and point: beef/chicken salami, bacon, pepperoni, etc. But we all found it to be a bit on the salty side, the pepperoni, and besides the fact I spammed quite a lot on! Though a few drinks down the channel definitely helped :D.

A montage of awesomeness... (L)pepperoni (R)UltiPizza...

At this point, Zhou was saying that he was still not even filled as he deemed this to be more of finger food -.-. So okay loh, proceeded to make the next one which I hereby call the UltiPizza or the Trifacta(?)... it's basically a combo of both the ham+bacon and the pepperoni pizza into 1. And it was MASSIVE... Again couldn't get the dough to be rounded though...

Zhou looking for the pepperoni under the cheese...

After chilling awhile and doing some cleaning up, I went on and made my signature (actually very easy to make) pizza that has banananananas and apple toppings. Not surprisingly though, they all agreed this was the best of the lot O.-... Woi, main course not nais meh? But I have to admit, it was pretty awesome.

Phang practising his smash...

All in all it went pretty well I suppose... you know you've thrown a good dinner when 1)the guests doesn't complain/whine bout d food 2)they say (whether meant or not...) it was good/awesome 3)the haus didn't burn down and 4)no one suffered food poisoning the next day!

Finally have my Messi10 jersey ^^...

Though I was kinda disappointed that 4 fully capable drinkers didn't even manage to drink 1/2 bottle of Bacardi... OI WTF IS THIS? 1 by 1 had reasons... or as I refer to as 'pretty lame excuses' not to drink. This is why I wanted an enabler like Nara to come... Oh well, looks like that has to be done in KL, where the booze are a plenty and the crowd always merry!

Can you say de-freakin-licious...

In the end, everyone left at around 1230 and by the time I slept was about 1 though I did manage to wake up at 4 to watch Barca take on Villareal... Lucky I manage to wake up else I would have missed Messi's comeback goals in that match. Again Xavi was the midfield maestro, and Barca played with a front line with an average height of 180cm yet managed to run out comfortable 4-1 winners on the night... what a great way to end the night!

Mmmmmmm...

And with results going the way they did during the weekend, it all looks to go down to the final few days (or the final in England) of the season in Spain and Italy... whoa, what a way to build up to the greatest show on earth! Hopefully no one gets seriously injured during the run in though...

Nothing like some alcohol to get the edge off...

So week 1 of holidays have already come & gone and I have to say, it was pretty productive... minimal rotting at home scenario... Lets see how I survive the next 4 weeks!

Steps To Getting Brain Damage (edited)...

For the past few days, things have been pretty crazy for me. For one, I had 3 papers in 2 days (again). Yes that was hell to go through and it mentally drained me but that's the boring stuff, what occurred on either side of it (brain damaged me can't think of a better word for the opposite of in between) was the fun part :D.

On Saturday, my house-mate Aaron came back to KL after spending several months back home. And accompanying him on the way back is 2 bottles of tuak! For those sober and dull people out there (yes offence), tuak is made from fermented rice and has a golden colour to it. Oh its sweet as well therefore its kind of the silent killer type of drink... So a couple of us gathered and had some shots of tuak before one of them suggested we go to The Library for happy hour... I only said, 'thats exactly whats on my mind!'

Enjoyin some Hoes...

So off we headed to the Library, which in a way is what I actually should be doing :P. And to add the icing on the cake, I finally had pure absinthe! It actually tasted pretty good although the after effects was like having 4 shots of tequila in one... But I felt kinda cheated cos I ordered two different types of absinthe, wanting the green colour one and instead both came out white. FYI, only 2 types of absinthe are legally sold here, white one has bout 50+% alcohol while the green one has 60+% content. So pussies like yong and donn, next time try la.. 1 glass wont die wan la.. wont even feel it... trust me guys :D...

Then later on, Gwen and her friend (sorry if wrong ah) dropped by so a round of stouts was bought. I only had half a pint though, which was good enough for me, not a big fan of the black stuff, prefer my alcohol clear, gold, white or green! All this was happening while the Manchester derby was playing in the background and because we had to bounce to crash a BBQ, I missed the typical 92nd minute goal from United... HAIZ... There, I had 1 cup of self mixed ribena + 42below vodka =D.... So total drink count for that day: 3-4 shots of tuak (I can't really remember), 2 pints of Hoegaarden, 2 glasses of Absinthe, 1/2 pint of Connor's Stout and 1 glass of 42below... Brain damage? For sure!!

Elixir of Deth...

As for yesterday, we'd already planned to drink but because of some complications, there wasn't enough alcohol... This is one of those times that makes me believe in miracles cos right in front of my condo, like 1 min walk in front, was the grand opening of a pool centre. So there was free food, free pool and free beer! Seeing as we already had dinner, we basically maxed out the other 2. Around 7-8 of us had at least 20 buckets of beer (1 bucket = 5 small bottles)!! The amateur beer drinker in me only had 6 bottles before I felt too full, not drunk, to consume anymore...

Beer was just the light infantry...

After that, some of them decided to go to my place and tried to finish the remaining tuak with another liquor from hell - langkau... Another fermented rice drink that looks like water but according to the brewer, its about 90+% alcohol ... -.-'.... I actually was watching the 1st half of the Champions League so I didn't had that much to drink. But when I reached home, I saw 1 by 1 nearly out! Personal deth avoided!

Compared to the clear WMA on the right...

I can seriously feel the lack of brain cells in my head already right now. But on the bright side, my next paper is on Saturday, so I'll have a decent amount of time to recover... hopefully...

Time To Put My Game Face On...

Oh its gonna be one helluva weekend for me... Not the fun kind by a country mile.

For one, our season could be seriously made or broken come the end of tonight. Best case scenario, we win, chelsea loses. Worse case scenario, we lose, chelsea wins, then its all over... Most realistic scenario, we lose, chelsea draws, which also kinda means bye bye to our title hopes...

And its going to be a do or die week for my fantasy as well, need to score super high pts to pull away from Mr.Yeah and close the gap possibly overtaking the other 2 lahanats in front of me. All this because of putting too much trust in Torres as my captain and Gerrard... lol...

Oh, and there's that 'little' thing called 'my finals' on monday and tuesday that I still need to prepare for! Fucking hell, really no mercy man this place.... 3 papers in 2 days again!! Looks like I'll be a fucking zombie on crack for the next 4 days or so...

As the title implies, its time to put my game face on...

http://upnextinsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/sports-pictures-raiders-fan-game-face.jpg
I needs one...

So, suling, still think I'm having fun? Really wanna join? -.-'

Best Burger In Town...

Another weekend just pass, another week nearer to my finals for this sem and another week nearer for our miserable season to draw to a close... Oh and another weekend for the trio of us to go hunt for some glorious food!

YES, IT'S ANOTHER FOOD POST! don't be hating ya u hungry ppl!

So this week round, Don suggested this place called The Daily Grind @ Bangsar Village II where according to him has the best burger in town! Now I was a bit sceptical bout this cos I thought I made the best burgers in town!! hahaha.. ooops, thats malacca town... ok ok, jokes aside, honestly, my burger bench mark would be Carl's Junior. If a burger can match up to Carl's, then it can be considered a pretty damn good burger in my books. Same goes wif the fries that comes with it!

Anyway, we arrived at the place which was located near the Starbucks/Outback Steakhouse/Worse Organic Food EVER side of BV2. It looked kinda cosy with some rustic interior. Though I was wondering why did 1 small joint have 3 entrance doors.

The Daily Grind...

Then the waiter brought us the menu which was kinda short and simple, prolly watched one or 2 of Gordon Ramsey's shows (he basically tells restaurant owners that the menu should not be over cluttered with dishes). So there were quite a variety of burgers plus your usual soups, salads and pasta. One burger that caught my eye was the foie gras burger! Was so tempted to try cos I had never eaten foie gras before let alone in a burger! But the price of 55 bucks for that burger put me off... for now!

@ RM 8 a mug, how can I pass it up...

So we ended up ordering 1 salad, Don had a smoked salmon + grilled chicken burger, Yong had an aptly named Lamborghini burger while I had a regular Italian beef burger with mozzarella cheese. It was happy hour so 1 mug (which I think = 1/2 pint) of Tiger was only RM8! while it's buy 1 free 1 on 1/2 pint of Guinness. Wasn't a fan of the dark stuff so I had the Tiger instead while the other 2 decided to order ice water... AGAIN...

Klip says it redefines the term 'salad'...

The salad came first, and it looked tasty! But when we dug in, we were disappointed to find only 4 pieces of prawn and 3 pieces of calamari (deduced by Yong)! WTF!! Well, probably it's for 1 portion so that's why la... but RM25 bucks for that... I might not order it again though the prawns and squid were fresh!

Did I hear the burger say, 'Vroom vroom'?...

Then Yong's Lamborghini burger came. It was, as I assume that you could've guess, a lamb burger. At first glance, the patty looked rather small but thick and there was quite a few greens on top. After having a bite though, I have to say it is quite superb! Juicy and tender though it might not suit a lot of people cos the lamb has a rather strong game smell. If you don't mind that, then this is the burger for you! Now we know where Mary's little lamb went!

Why I oways see u in the Milan jersey wan...

For once, my meal didn't come out last as my rather simple n plain Italian burger came out. Like the lamb burger, it was very juicy and tasty minus the gamy smell. And I did like the fact that they added some spice on the cheese (oregano if I'm not mistaken) before melting it on the meat. Though I would've liked more cheese :(.

Look at the cheese oozing out...

About a quarter way through my burger, Don's burger of the month came. Heck it looked more like a normal western dish with all the leaves and asparagus sticking out rather than a burger! But I have to say, the chicken and the salmon complemented each other quite nicely. Oh I love smoked salmon!

Burger or a regular meal with a bun?...

All in all, a great dinner, although it wasn't too filling (yon'g and I went for sup kambing later on) it was just a nice portion. So is it THE best in town? Burger wise, in terms of taste n texture, yes, one of the best. I wasn't as blown away as the Inverse Burger @Oasis however. Size of the burger could've been a tad bigger though. As for the fries, it was good enough that didn't sucked as bad as say KFC or Burger King's but still cannot beat Carl's Junior's fries! But I was a bit turn off by the times our burgers came out, all quite far apart. I expected better consistency from a burger joint :P

Nom nom nom...

Oh, topic of discussion for the night: the ending of the world in 2012 and possible invasion on Malaysia. Apparently Yong and Don seems convinced that like the movie 2012, the world is going to end in about 2 years time and with all the recent erratic form of nature, they might have a point. On the point where our country will be conquered again (possibly by Jews!), I seriously doubt so. Really, c'mon, what natural resources does our country have that has a global demand? Palm oil and rubber? I however foresee our country going down by our own hands rather than being invaded lah (see UMNO-Perkasa). I'll stop here as I don't want to spoil this post :P...

One last thing, I feel that we need to expand our makan group. 3 people is fine but with more people means more food to sample! PYH has already had the experience that he shall not soon forget! So those who are free on weekends, want to have a good meal, don't mind spending a little over the norm, please inform us lah... I don't want to be the only one not ordering ice water everytime leh :P
