Oh How I've Longed For This...

My parents just came back from a holiday in the UK and all they got me was this:

My very own Ultraman/PowerRanger jersey...

My very first ORIGINAL United jersey!! Hopefully I'll 'début' it tonight when we travel to the Allianz Arena to take on Bayern Munich. hahaha... oh and there is a training jersey as well. But funny enough it doesn't have the Nike swoosh sign or the AIG logo.

100 years and counting...

Actually my sis was the one who bought the jersey for me... It fits like a glove. Only downside IMHO is that no name at the back :(... Really wanted one with 'Rooney 10' at the back but I can't really complain now can I? Maybe I might just bring it to Al-Ikhsan or something n ask...

Mmmmm.... Rawr...

Oh, there were also a host of goodies in the form of cookies, chips and gummy bears dinosaurs :D... There goes my plan for losing weight for awhile...

Pork Has Never Tasted So Good...

Strategic location in d middle of 1U, The Curve and BU Centerpoint...

Last Saturday, Don, Yong and me went on another food quest to stuff ourselves with some of the best food our country has to offer. This time round, I manage to get Phang to come up to KL after probably the 100th time... Worth it mou? This time round, I suggested we go to this haunt called Ribs@Oasis which is conveniently located in between 1U, The Curve and Centerpoint. Read bout this place in several blogs and judging by their pictures and reviews, I knew we were in for a treat. What I didn't expect though, was how BIG a treat it would turn out to be!

A small cosy environment...

We arrived at the place around 8+ due to the lateness of SOME people who wanted to go shopping :P. The restaurant itself was quite small and cosy though I think they have extra seating upstairs on the rooftop (serious.. I kid you not!). We basically ordered all the recommended dishes from the menu with me getting the pork knuckle, pyh getting the pork loin, yong having the reverse or inverse burger as well as ordering carbonara pasta in his quest to try d best carbonara pasta out there while don had the oxtail spaghetti. To balance out all the meat dishes, we called for the Ceaser's salad as well.

Hail Caesar! with bacon...

After about half an hour, the first of our dishes arrived which were the pastas and salad. Honestly I found the pastas all right laahhh, not mind blowing good but still good. But the salad was a let down for me, didn't have enough cheese nor anchovies.

Oxtail pasta...

Then Yong's Inverse Burger came out which looked pretty darn good! It's called the Inverse (or reverse) Burger simply for the fact that instead of having 2 slices of bread holding 1 piece of meat, it is 2 pieces of meat holding 1 piece of bread! And best of all it is a pork burger! I had one bite and it was awesome!! Juicy, tasty, succulent and [insert yummy adjective here]. Really loh, it could've matched my Legendary Burger© :P. It was so good that Yong only allowed us 1 piece each... I remembered when Don tried to go for seconds, he was stopped in his tracks!

Slurping goodness...

After awhile, Phang's braised pork loin came. It was a pretty big portion and it basically tasted like the siew yok bak in tau yu sauce. Only much better and much tastier! Though pyh said he had better -.-'.

Genius of a burger...

As usual, mine came last. But like the saying goes, 'save the best for last'. So when my pork knuckle came out, all of us were literally like O.O wtf!... Saying it was HUGE is an understatement... It was more like hu-farkin-mongus!!! I think it was as big as my face loh.. -.-'

Pork never tasted this good...

At first I didn't know where to start, the skin was extra crispy so when I cut into it, I could hear the crackling of skin. Then the juices or fats came oozing out... The combination of crispy skin, creamy fat and tender meat was literally mind blasting... The term mouth orgasm is probably of good use here. The sides of mash potatoes and pickled cabbage seemed unnecessary. And there was so much of meat to go around, I had to share with all of them. Seriously, this is not a dish you want to eat alone... unless of course you've been starving for the past 3 days lah, then probably you might be able to finish!

Until now...

Eating that behemoth piece of meat was really work for me, had to cut here, cut there... I think I took about an hour to finish the whole thing! There were times when I wanted to throw in the towel but then I remembered bout d starvin' kids in Africa so as to honour them, I persevered on! By the time I was done, I gave myself a pat on the back looking at the now meatless piece of bone. I was telling them that the piece of bone would've been excellent to use for stock or cooking pork porridge.

Working for my dinner...

For dessert, the manager recommended their tiramisu so pyh ordered 1 slice for us to share. I was actually only 3/4 way through my pork when the cake came. It looked creamy, rich and absolutely mouth watering. The greedy me couldn't resist the temptation and took a break from the main course to have a bite. It was really good! The taste of coffee and rum was just right... although, not enough cheese for my liking... My mom's version pwns this still! :D

After nearly an hour of battle, I won...

So by the time we, more like I was done, the restaurant was almost closing already, all the guest had gone, and we got the bill. We were literally stuffed to the brim with pork... Ah pork... how can one give up this luxury for a religion?... Lets save that for another day...

Sinful end to a glutton dinner...

And how did I wash down all the sinful goodness? With a bottle (or 2) of Corona of course! Honestly, I don't know what the fuss is all bout this particular beer. Taste almost like Carlsberg anyways, I'd prefer a Heineken anytime!

Might look girly, but it tasted nice...

Right back to the point... The prices were quite reasonable considering the portions, about 19-30 bucks... Though the pork shoulder costs a whopping RM52++. Then again, it is meant to be shared.. So yeah, it was another successful eating adventure for us. Another reason why I'm getting fat. :( ...

Ring Ring...

Now usually prefer not to review music videos as I don't really see the point in it cos well, there isn't much interesting stuff in it other than its a visual aid for the song itself. But I suppose there's always a first time for everything so I'm goin out on a limb to say Lady Gaga's new vid featuring Beyonce is fuckin' awesome on so many levels although of course, impossible on many more!

First, we get to see probably some of the hottest inmates there will ever be in a prison, and like Liz Lemon from 30 Rock would say, ' I want to go to there'. Then there's the scene where she gets stripped down by the prison wardens when one of them says 'I told you she didn't have a dick'. I thought it was brilliant of her quashing those rumours of her being a hermaphrodite in a video!

We all know her sense of fashion is a little out there but her fag glasses and using soda cans as curlers? Simply original I think!

Now that's making use of resources...

Then there's the part where she does a MJ move as she gets bailed out of prison. It was pretty cool and I would like to think of it as her homage to the king.

There are even some quotable quotes in the video like Gaga saying 'you know what they say, once u kill a cow, u've gotta make the burger'!. Then Beyonce said ' U know, trust is like a mirror, you can fix it if its broke'. To which Gaga replied 'but you can still see the crack in that motherfuckers reflection!'. Now that's classic!!

Who says MVs don't carry words of wisdom

Oh, then there is a totally random Make a Sandwhich class with LG which ended up more like a Cook n Kill class. Note the last ingredient... A tribute to the gamers out there?

Red Alert! or issit C&C?...

Last but not least, their get away vehicle which has been tastefully named the Pussy Wagon. I kid you not!

The opposite would be the Dick Mobile?...

Well, I'm not sure how many of you are as thrilled as me (prob none) but I foresee a huge profit in sales for this single. Fine, I shall stop this randomness and continue with my assignments...

Oh the song itself is kinda catchy though I've yet to listen clearly to the words...

Sacrifices We Make...

You know you lack sleep when by mid day, your head feels like dropping down to the nearest surface and doze off but closing your eyes can be painful. That was what happened to me (again) today as I stayed up almost all night, I say almost cos I manage to get in 1 hour of sleep before heading off to class. And it didn't help that I was at Bangsar by 8 am for my 10 am class... Heck on the way back, I almost missed my stop in the train, woke up just in time at my stop! Reason? Watching Champions League football of course! Was it worth it?

Wayne Rooney turns to celebrate his first, as he would put the Italian side to the sword.
Back with a bang...

Well, not only did we beat trash AC Milan and bury the ghost of couple of years back, not only did Rooney made an impressive comeback from injury by scoring 2, and not only did David Beckham return to his old haunting ground giving probably the best performance from a player in black, it was United's usual unsung heroes in Park, Fletcher and even old man Neville giving one heck of a performance with the former 2 getting a goal each that really impressed me. This has to be one of our best performance in Europe for a long time... To put into context what I'm trying to express, last season when we whoop Arsenal, it was compared as boys versus men, last night however, it was like men taking on a bunch of grandpas!

David Beckham dons an anti-Glazer scarf on his way off the pitch, and he was nearly in tears as he gave his post-match interview.
Becks was given a fitting rousing ovation on his arrival...

And to add icing to the cake, super cocky Real Madrid got knocked out at home by Lyon! Imagine their defender proudly predicting that they will win 3-0 in front of their home crowd and former Liverpool player Xabi Alonso (who?) saying he'll be back for the next round of matches from injury! HAHA... so much for that.. Moral of the story? Trash talking only works if you win.

Ronaldo shows his disappointment as he watches Real's hopes of returning to the Bernabeu in May fade.
Down and out...

On another note, I was surprised how 'kao' the Old Town White Coffee actually is! I was expecting some barely bland, watered down cup of coffee. But to my pleasant surprise it was so 'kao', it kicked any Starbucks' coffee even with extra shots of espresso sooo hard! Guess that helped me survive through the day... Then again, I'm sure my blood is already part caffeine!

This will kick start the non-regulars for sure...

Right, my battery is almost running on empty nao... gonna watch today Idol and take a lloooong nap...

Show Some Enthusiasm Would Ya...

Another weekend, another cup in the bag. Thanks to the red hot partnership of Rooney and Valencia (seriously, those two have been getting the bulk of the goals and assists this past few games) and of course a goal from Owen, we defeated Aston Villa to defend the Leagues Cup which happens to be Fergie's 32nd trophy at Old Trafford! Even Villa boss Martin O'Neil said, 'How is the new manager even going to better Fergie's record? Win 10 premier league titles? That would just be getting on par.'

As Michael Owen celebrates his goal with Darren Fletcher.
More of this please Micheal...

However, it can clearly be seen by the way the players react after winning that this is not the title they would want, probably the least important ahead of the Community Shield. I was a little bit annoyed that instead of running the length of the pitch or jumping for joy or just falling to their knees with emotion, players from both sides just smiled and shook hands with each other much like the end of a regular league match. Heck, I could see the likes of Owen not even smiling when the final whistle blew, but then again, he got injured in the match so probably that's why.

Wayne Rooney celebrates after scoring the goal which won the Carling Cup for Manchester United
Look who's at it again...

Now all we need is the league and Champions League *fingers crossed*.Luckily though it did not have to go to extra time else I would've been so screwed cos I had 2 midterms today with the first paper at 8.30am. I was pretty zoned out while I was revising my notes and even more stoned when taking the papers but I think I did alrite as what I read came out :D.

On another note, thank freaking allah/god/*insert your idol of worship here* that the winter Olympics is over. Finally normal scheduling of programmes in the States can resume which means regular download times for me over here :).

Aite... time to sleep in this freaking hot weather. Though I won't be surprise by the time I wake up, it just might rain.
